New hire and OOW - on first live day? sm - tinyham

Seriously? Is this typical? Love how recruitment hyped this place up. New PT hire, assigned one primary acct, finished the umpteen hours of training, released to TSM and on my first "live" day of work my account is OOW? Then receive a zip file of emails from TSM sent to the ENTIRE team which include prior employee resignation letters, employees being reprimanded, and the kicker - TSM acknowledges that the work volume on the account that I was assigned to wasn't as expected and she is trying to find other accounts for her "ladies." This is beyond unprofessional. I have plenty of experience and have always worked as an IC, but like everyone else work volume is low and took a PT job with this place. What a mistake. Poor hiring AND management practices. Just seems poorly run all around. Who should I take this up with at the company, or am I just wasting my time? Who hires someone when they don't have work available? They must have just needed some bottom feeders I guess. I feel I need to run...FAST. TIA for letting me vent.

Must have a lot of new hires because my account is constantly running out during prime time when doctors usually dictate. Lots of excuses but none valid. Spring break, doctors on vacation, bad weather, etc. The fact is Nuance over hires and there are too many MTs on the account.

So they don't have to pay make-up pay, but still are able to pay the minimum amount possible. Beyond disgusting. Oh, and there's also the cherry-picking by... favorites? team leads? who knows, so you are left with the dregs and left FEELING like the dregs.

No one can get ahead with this company. That is, no one except the 6-figure management types, the ones who make the rules to keep the rest of us oppressed and feeling badly about ourselves.

A lot of us with decades of experience and outstanding accuracy are now barely making minimum wage. Our pay has been slashed by up to 40% so they can pay their selfish, greedy CEO his megamillions. Even the stockholders are not happy with this greed-driven individual.

I would have loved to receive an email with resignation letters. I've been pondering how I should word mine.

but that was the summer and it picked up, that was also a few years ago. Now, the updates I see from other teams show accounts with little work on accounts that used to be jumping. The account I am on goes to Epic and I will be moved to a new account. I do not think this is a Nuance thing, I think it is an industry thing with the accounts drying up and the MTs being switched to other accounts. I suspect saturation will be reached in the not to distant future.

that we heard about over a month ago and are still waiting to see where we are going to be placed. I was told my schedule was created because of the massive volume and it is OOW every day, no matter what day.

MModal made me install Windows Live, but I need to uninstall it. Long story, but it was a disaster. When I go into my Add/Remove programs, all I see are: Windows Live Essential, Windows Live ID sign-in Assitant and Windows Live Upload Tool. Do I just remove all those and hope it's okay? Can someone tell me how to do a send/receive in Windows Live Mail? I know with my Outlook Express, I can manually do one, either on the tool bar or with keystrokes. Ctrl + N will open a new message box, and ctrl + m will do a manual "send/receive." I can do the new message thing in Live Mail, but I can't do the send/receive. Can someone help me? It doesn't have to be keystrokes, but I can't find it on the tool/menu bar. ...
