New-Hire Communication - Just started

I just started with Nuance this past week.  During the hiring process, I had good communication with the recruiter.  During training, there was good communication with the person in charge of my training.  However, since my first day on the job, I have only heard from my TSM once, and that was a bulk e-mail to lots of people.   Is this typical?  I've been reviewing my QA in Fiesa and making notes, but should I be expecting any other kind of feedback or communication?

.....the emails will be coming. My TSM sends out weekly scorecards which include Nuance's metrics---some of which I have NO clue what they are--and the emails are full of abbreviations and I don't know what all those are either.

Regarding the metrics, those emails come with threats--if you don't meet the metrics for 2 weeks in a row, you will be hearing from her and HR because this has to be corrected immediately. I hate reading these because I feel I a being yelled at....MAKE SURE YOU ARE WORKING YOUR SCHEDULE. MAKE SURE TO TRY AND SEND LESS THAN 10% OF WORK TO QA. MAKE SURE YOU ARE MEETING ALL REQUIRED METRICS....etc.

In the same email, reach out to her if she can help you in anyway. It is passive/aggressive. I did reach out to her and she never responded to my email.

I breathe a sigh of relief if there are no emails...it means for the moment I can breathe because no one found an error they feel they need to demean me with and no one is going to beg me to work on an unfamiliar account because it is behind, which I will NEVER do again, because when I have to send to QA, I get paid less.

As the saying goes, no news is good news and in Nuances case, no email is good email!

stupid BS emails letting you know she's drinking coffee looking at the snow out the window, a full weather report, a rundown of the weekend activities with her grandkids & other such crap I don't have time to waste reading & truly could not care less about.

Six supervisors in 5 years, all had both acute care facilities and clinics. - Perhaps they are trying to create some separation.

...with their incessant restructuring, but it sure has not been the way it has been to this point. As more of the clinic accounts drop off radar to India, the supes just convert you over to acute on one of their accounts, if you are interested. There seems to be an ever-changing matrix of people and accounts on my team.

There are thousands of us though, so perhaps none of us will ever really know for sure. They are not exactly forthcoming.

Most emails are group emails with information related to the account or saying oh my, there is a backup, everyone log on now and then later that evening you can plan on being OOW.

If I do receive a personal email from my supervisor, it is generally to address an issue and that is it.

As an MT who has recently had a pay cut (or "new pay structure") and has consequently upped my game in terms of trying to get more lph, now I find there just seems to be not enough work to even get the 8 hours a day in. This company has some major problems right now, and clearly has all along by the looks of the posts here.  Communication is nonexistent, management is a joke..hostile even.  I'd run, not walk, from ever applying here.  Seriously.  Pay is a joke, and they do not give out raises OR time off w/o a battle.  Even if you were desparate enough to apply, you probably wouldn't hear back from them anyways - cuz that's how they roll.  Save yourself a lot of hassle. ...

There really needs to be a change in the level of meaningful communication.  A couple of weeks ago all of a sudden, there were no status updates.  It went from 2 a day even on the weekends to nothing for a week.  When I finally got one, the supervisor explained they were trying to determine how the work flowed without the status updates.  If I was a supervisor, that would scare me because it sounds like they are looking at ways of having less management personnel.  But, ...

Today is March 11 - that's 11 days since those of us who USE to work on a large account for OTI went POOF.  There has been little to NO communication since then.  Since March 4, I have applied for so many job postings, MT - nonMT - employee - IC it really doesn't matter I just need to make $$ and support my family!  It is very frustrating that you don't even get a canned answer "sorry, the positions are filled"  or "sorry you don't meet our specifications" ...

Just a question for everyone.  I accepted a position and was to hear by the end of this week from my manager about doing some training on Tuesday of next week and have not heard one word.  I did receive foot pedal, etc.  I put a call out to the recruiter who told me my manager was going to contact me, but of course at MQ you always have to leave a message.  Is this the norm for new employees?????  Any comments are appreciated. ...

I've had a job offer with a transcription company..however, my problem is I'm required to have MS Word, version 2007 or 2010,,,no student/teacher/starter or trial editions....and I've gone to Best Buy, E Bay and Amazon.  The cheapest I have found to dowload it is $300 !!  That's not happening....so, is there a less expensive way ??? If not, I'm faced with turning down this job offer.   HELP !! ...
