TTS - hiring for an acute care and a clinic account - jobsearching

Posted: Jun 23, 2010

I see they are hiring for an acute care and a clinic account. But they say you must have acute care experience. Does anyone know if this is true? I know I can ask the company, and I will, but I thought I would see if anyone here knew.

Isn't TTS the one where they provide the surveillance foot pedal? - Speak of the devil, lol!

Think I'll be passing on that one. I'm still creeped out by the mystical foot pedal...

I don't know what you're talking about in relation to "surveillance foot pedal", but that sounds crazy. I work for TTS and am very happy there. I work on a Dictaphone account using ExEditor and it's a Dictaphone foot pedal that was my own. I get so tired of seeing people bash these companies who are actually very good to work for. I do 100% VR and make more money now than I ever did straight typing. I am very happy with TTS.

then TTS - must be bipolar like the Q sm

you never know what you're going to get, a crap shoot in reality

It's not the "footpedal" that is the spy. It's the software in the program. It records how long the job took to complete. Until the job is signed off, the time keeps ticking away. It counts "transcribed" time and the time your foot was off the pedal.

Length of time to complete a job - Seen it

[ In Reply To ..]
That's not unusual. I used to be able to see how long a job was in a transcripionist's queue, so how long it took to complete a dictation. Pretty sure the hospital didn't do a whole lot with that information, but that was years ago. Worked with someone who would do one or two reports in her eight-hour shift, and we were getting paid by the hour.
I can understand if you are being paid by the hour - looney

but when you are an IC and you have only 4 minutes of your foot pedal not being used before it notes the time that you weren't in the report, then that is ridiculous. As long as your production is good and your reports don't go out of TAT then they shouldn't care and should leave you alone about it.
Agree. I would never work for anyone who did that. - It is ridiculous

All companies have this ability to see how long it takes us to complete each job. I don't see what's wrong with this if you are doing what you're supposed to. There are MTs who sign in and sit on a job all day for some reason.
This goes beyond simply nabbing the hoarders - s/m

They are calling and emailing people who show no keystrokes for five minutes. That borders on ludicrous and abusive, and given that they're ICs, this is probably illegal in IRS terms. If I am producing the 1200 lines a day or whatever the requirement is, it shouldn't matter if I'm doing it in 3 hours or 8 hours.

DSG monitoring time in DQS - And another thing...(sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
I believe, if I am not mistaken, that DSG can monitor the total amount of time you spend in DQS. I don't know that they monitor the time it takes to complete jobs, but it wouldn't surprise me. They recently complained that people were putting more time on their timesheets than they were actually spending in DQS and no you have to be careful to keep closer track of your actual hours. Of course, they don't count the time you spend waiting for DQS to connect, or the time you spend doing your timesheet, or the time you spend updating your account specifics, etc. etc. etc.

Acute Care?
Sep 23, 2014

As a relative newbie MT, I'm not certain what "acute care" means. Does it mean basically all reports that are from doctors in the hospital setting? That is, would any hospital operative note, hospital progress note, and all discharge summaries be considered "acute care"? I know a clinic note is basically a note by an outpatient doctor, right? And it's basically about more minor medical problems albeit could be chronic rather than "acute." ...
