Suggestion per MT at IMEDX being implemented (sm) - Good idea

I liked this post and I am all for positive change. - Question:

How does this benefit the MT? I don't see the benefit for me. If it does, I'll hop right on board the woo-woo train. But, I just don't want Imedx to be using the suggestions to implement things here and there that makes it look like they are doing great things for the MT when actuality they are just doing stuff to be doing stuff with no benefit to the employees. With the fact that TECH has instructed us to quit sending tickets to them for discrepancies in line counts (????) and I still have no clue where we are now supposed to get those adjustments made in a timely fashion or who to notify of these discrepancies, it seems we have much bigger fish to fry.
JMHO, of course.
I like your post Question - Imedx suggestion program a joke
[ In Reply To ..]
I promise, I'm not trying to be Negative Nellie, but Imedx has major, major issues going on. I feel the implementation of the employee suggestion program is just smoke and mirrors trying to divert attention away from the major issues by saying "hey, look over here. See, we are a good company and we care about your employees so much we want your suggestions to make the workplace better." And then behind the scenes they are such a huge disaster and have no intention of changing their major issues because their "major issues" are saving them money so the higher ups can make more money, and basically that is all Imedx cares about. My opinion, of course.
By the way, the e-mail about us not sending line discrepancies to Tech anymore didn't even make any sense to me. My line count is off because it is off not because it was possibly not calculated in EST. I work day shift, so my lines are not counted near the end of the day, when they could possibly be rolling into another day. They are just short every single pay period since we moved lines into Exponent HR.
The people at Imedx don't seem to understand that 2 + 2 equals 4 and that has nothing to do with EST.
Sounds like time to contact the state Employment Board. - poor enogh

Along with copies of emails and IT tickets (if that is the way they do it - MM uses IT tickets)
Time for everyone to file a complaint with your state's labor board and blow the whistle!
MQ did similar.
I totally agree - One big joke

The 5-minute implementation is SUPPOSED to allow us to get more accurate time management for when we're on the clock. Why even mention it if it wasn't even being implemented yet, and we have no idea when it will be. We have bigger fish to fry besides that anyway, like improving these systems and actually having work when we're scheduled so that we have to plan our lives around an inconsistent workflow. I suggest they give raises so that we are compensated based on our skill level, but those are not the things they're interested in. They're only interested in the smoke and mirrors to make the employees think they care. I don't even bother to make suggestions because I know they're not REALLY interested in what matters the most to us, or at least some of us anyway.

more difficulty hiring due to their poor reputation. I was offered two jobs recently and chose not to work for Nuance. I got a message from a man at Nuance wanting to ask about my conversations with the recruiter, which was not the problem, it is their reputation for being completely apathetic toward their employees while the CEO rakes in the money. With this 2,000 sign on bonus and aggressive recruiting (calling people who didn't apply through resumes online) I get the feeling they are they are having trouble hiring enough MTs. It's about time!

works from home is ever "late" for their shift. For cripe's sake, how hard is it to get up 15 minutes earlier and do what you need to do and then clock in on time? If you worked in the "real outside" world being late wouldn't be tolerated. Some people think work from home means show up when you want to, no one is watching me - sadly mistaken, they are watching all the time and with good reason.

I think they are referring to clocking in and out when there is no work. I have had to do this up to 15 times in 1 day, and it is pretty ridiculous when you are not paid by the hour.

LOLOL - I worked at home for 30-odd years and most days (sm) - This struck me funny.

I was late by 5 or 10 minutes. Everyone used to laugh when my kids were small and say I must have been watching Captain Kangaroo with them. (I was much of the time). I rarely had a time clock to punch anyway. One place I was the boss for 10+ years. Set a fine example, didn't I? So please spare me the "real world" malarkey. I did it.
They don't make adjustments to the line counts. - gonesoon

They go strictly by what ExponentHR tells them. I turned in line count discrepancies for 3 pay periods, then gave up. AT last count, I was out pay for over 1300 lines. Never got a response back from IT or their boss. Finally was told that IT's explanation is iChart doesn't know how to count - in other words - they don't know how to fix the problem. So, the e-mail from HR that they have it "fixed" is a load of hooey.
IT Department at Imedx - What an unprofessional joke
[ In Reply To ..]
It really makes me wonder if we as Americans just have higher expectations. Maybe the IT department is not used to dealing with American MTs and used to only dealing with Indian MTs. Maybe the influx of Transtech's MTs have overwhelmed them with expectations they aren't used to dealing with. Maybe they are overworked? I seriously doubt Imedx treats their Indian employees any better than their American employees. I do know something for sure ... they certainly don't seem to have the skill or professionalism I have been dealing with for the past many, many years in this career with American IT people. Makes me realize just how blessed we were at TT with the crew they had there.
So Imedx, here is an employee suggestion for you: Fix the issues with your IT department. They are absolutely critical to your success. For them to not respond to e-mails when MTs are being shorted money is beyond unprofessional. And then for them not to be able to figure out the issue? You have to be kidding!!

I would have been satisfied with "we don't know," rather than the excuse they gave. The boss isn't any better. All I got from her is "give them another couple days, and if you still don't hear from them, send them another e-mail." I didn't bother.

Just A Suggestion Nov 22, 2010I want to make a suggestion to the MTs out there who are looking for work. Rather than possibly posting on the Jobs Wanted board, post your resume on the Resume Bank. I received a call a week ago Saturday from a company looking for MTs -- they have not posted openings here on MT Stars or on the other board, but they are looking. I know this because I spoke today with the person that hired me. He (as the company rep, mentioned that when he goes to the Resume Board), there ...

Suggestion Please Apr 12, 2012Anyone have a suggestion of a shortcut for L5-S1, L3-L4, C numbers and T numbers? Have a tough time typing letters and getting the hyphen in and I have to think too hard and get out of my rhythm trying to do these levels for some reason. I use autocorrect. Thanks ...

TransTech Suggestion Jul 19, 2011How about this? For holiday coverage, why not schedule 4-hour shifts instead of 8-hour shifts with hardly anything to do?
For example, why not have some MTs commit to the following shifts:
7am-11am
11am-3pm
3pm-7pm
7pm-11pm
11pm-3am
3am-4am
I think the MTs would like that idea. They could spend time with family/friends on the holidays without being on call and having to check their queue every 15 minutes or so for some work. They commit and work for 4 hours and are done. I've worked ...
Here's A Suggestion For Those Wanting To Know Jan 08, 2013Cheap, cheap, cheap. You should pay your peeps.
You could tell the clients NTS cannot keep up with work because people are jumping ship like rats from a hot fire.
Perhaps management (upper, way upper I mean) could explain instead of the TLs having to do it, that they needed so much money to take to the bank they had to cut the pay of all their employees, now they have green, not as speedy, uninitiated MTs doing the work. Most of the good ones have fled the scene.
And here's another rant: ...
Recommendation/Suggestion Apr 16, 2013Everyone should make a habit of getting a letter of reference from CURRENT employers even before you are actually looking for another job. All you have to say is that you are updating your resume and want to be sure you have current letters of reference attached as well. It doesn't matter if you are working as an "employee", if they are happy with you and with your work, they should have no problem giving this to you. If you are an "IC", it should be even easier since you ...
MT Pay Solution, Maybe..just A Suggestion Jun 20, 2013This is how we got paid at a major department store when I was a hairdresser:
Guaranteed minimum wage for hours worked. If our production exceeded minimum wage we were paid a percentage of that production on top of the minimum wage, usually 40%.
I would love to have MTs guaranteed at least a minimum wage for hours worked (or waiting to work) and anything we produce that exceeds that wage should be paid at the customary cpl. This would encourage higher production, benefitting th ...
Just A Helpful Suggestion ... Mar 11, 2014Some of you don't need me to tell you this, but others might benefit from this advice.
Reading through the posts on this coding training, I am seeing some legitimate questions and concerns, but also some that are so off the wall that they are either the product of the world's worst paranoid or someone who is intentionally trying to discourage you. The content and tone is a lot like some of the negativity that gets posted on the coding board every time some one asks about coding ...
A Suggestion For Nuance Dec 29, 2014You know that's your aim anyway. That way you can save money on all the middlemen and enforcers, i.e. you can stop making good QA/QC people into inquisitors.
If you want to offer a true bonus, just let everyone know they will make 7 c/l, THEN offer incentives, that way at least we know we can expect the base salary and the bonus will truly be a bonus, not a penalty.
There are a lot of companies that only pay that 7 cents per line, who have QA staff who are there to actually guide the MT a ...
Autocorrect Suggestion Box? Jun 19, 2015Hi, can anyone tell me if Autocorrect has a suggestion box that stays open while you type? I had been using Shorthand for 8 years and then just got a new job where they won't allow us to use anything but Autocorrect. It is their computer, a Thin Client, which does not allow you to upload anything. With Shorthand and Instant Text a suggestion box pops up showing you all the possible shortcuts and I can see in Autocorrect where you can type in your shortcut and the expansion that it repres ...
Speech Wreck Suggestion Sep 02, 2010I have tried to explain to manager that the program is slow, and does not seem to ever correct a lot of "normal" dictation, so I have come here to ask a question of you. I feel that we are not getting enough keystroke count for these jobs. I have had lengthy jobs with small actual counts because of all the repairing (MEing), and pickiing up of nearby conversations, using markers judiciously as requested. None of these markers are included in the count that I can see, but they a ...

Gonna Make A Suggestion Apr 10, 2013I want to extend a great big THANK YOU to everybody who has posted on this board, both good and bad. I never took the negativity personally or to heart. In fact, I considered it a lesson that I needed to learn with respect to the way this industry has deteriorated. That coupled with my sciatica (only when sitting) convinced me that it was time to move on once and for all, which I have. I would like to see others in this industry do the same. The biggest problem for me was findin ...

If It Looks Like IMEDX, Talks Like IMEDX, It Is IMEDX Feb 28, 2015No one on this board seems to give specifics when they get canned from IMEDX. How many lines did you do per day. Some of us may not be in your situation and you may have been just an employee that was not worth IMEDX's time and they got rid of you while they may keep all the others, or full timers. NY Suggestion So All MTs Here Achieve Satisfaction In 2011 Jan 02, 2011It's very simple and I am very serious:

MODERATOR: Suggestion For Resume Bank May 14, 2011I'm not sure where to post this...
The resume bank is a great resource, but I wish it was a little more flexible. For example, the section where you describe what kind of work you're looking for is restricted to choices on the drop-down menu. Some of us wear different hats and are looking for IC work if we can get it and/or an employee position if it's a good one. So multiple choices or even free text might be more suitable.
Just a thought. Thanks! ...

Suggestion To Aid With Income-related Discussions. Aug 10, 2012I've noticed that we need some sort of standard reference or metric to use when we talk about income-related issues, and this metric should not merely reference dollars (or cents), but should relate this to <i>a unit of time</i>. At the end of the day, it's how much you earned per unit of time that really matters, and this the only sort of metric that takes into account all of the variables that a mere monetary reference such as "line rate" does not.
The line rate pa ...
May I Make A Suggestion To Younger Folks Nov 12, 2013Here's one that I wish someone had recommended to me back when I was pursuing my bachelor's degree: Take ROTC. Seriously. When you graduate with that experience on your resume, prepared to be a military officer, you won't regret it.
Here's another one I wish I had considered when I was younger, which may still be available to me even at my age: Library Science. sounds boring right? When I was in school I'm sure I thought, "I don ...
Career Change To Massage Therapist Suggestion Mar 06, 2014My son is attending massage therapy training and will be done the end of June. He will be making more money than I will be once working. It only took a year. He is going for another year to earn an AA, but will start working and go to school at night. It's kind of expensive, but I think it would be a rewarding career.
There is an extensive anatomy course that we MTs would breeze through, so I thought I would pass this suggestion on. I realize some of you are in remote areas and thi ...
