I did notice that they seem obsessed with the fact that they are "at-will" employers and can fire anyone at any time for any reason. With Sofscript the question is always which is worse, getting fired or not getting fired?

This statement is something that almost all employers use these days, not just MTSOs. It allows an "easy-out" for an employer (and for employee too) if it isn't working out for whatever reason, even beyond a 90-day trial period.

What's up with the handbook? I did get my shift diff cut and my accounts lately are stinking, which is what brought me to this board.

Do you mind my asking..shift differential cut to what? I am curious about this. Interesting stuff I am not understanding. Medical transcription is nothing like it used to be. It is hard to "enjoy" your job anymore I think.

The differential is still the same, but the hours it starts are now 8 pm local time as opposed to 1 PM PST. That cuts out 4 hours of my second shift differential, debating a schedule change to later to help make up the difference.

What exactly does local time versus PST time mean? I'm not sure I understand exactly what that means. Does that mean it goes by what time the "mt" is physically?

Exactly. I used to get paid PST now I get paid EST and it starts at 8 EST instead of 4 EST like it used to.

I perused the board and it doesn't seem like anything else is any better, and on my worst day it's still 1000% better than MQ, so I guess I'll just try to keep it for 7 years and 14 more days! God how I miss my hospital job.

I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. Something is wrong with this picture. I am looking for another job, I just feel like I'm wasting my time. ...

I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position. I've not been working for SS very long and have been doing QA for them. I was wondering if anyone who reads this board is a QA, or has been a QA, for SS and, if so, do they audit you? How strict are the audits? What happens if you don't make the score? I have a friend who used to work for SS a couple years ago and she said that she quit because the audits were "nitpicky."
