Sorry to rain on your parade, but that is kind of like saying Las Vegas, Nevada is the safest city to live in because it has the fewest number of tsunamis. (In case you are not aware, it is impossible for Las Vegas to have a tsunami because it is inland and not along an ocean or large body of water).
KLAS only ranks a total of 30 MTSOs (out of thousands). In other words, a very, very small percentage.
Also, there is a factual stretch in one of the statements in that article:
"When comparing onshore and offshore transcription, onshore receives higher marks for both quality and turnaround time," stated transcriptions services report author Graham Triggs. "The top-five MTSOs are doing their work predominantly onshore."
Yes, 3 out of the KLAS top 5 may not off-shore, but the other two are Precyse and Transcend, and I defy anyone to state with a straight face that those two MTSOs “are doing their work predominantly onshore.” I guess it comes down to what the definition of “predominantly” means to those MTSOs. LOL
It also does not state that KLAS ranked its top 15 (out of 30), and of those top 15, only 3 did not off-shore. That means 12 out of 15 DO off-shore and KLAS considers them “The 2009 TOP 15 BEST!!”
I am glad that you are happy at Webmedx (many are not), but, I am afraid, being number 1 on the top 15 KLAS will not get you any more money or job security.
By the way, did you know that Transcend was Number 1 for 2008? If you have read any of the comments on this Board, you know what Transcend has been doing to its employee over the last few months.
Celebrate while you can – as with everything else in the Medical Transcription field, things can change swiftly and drastically.
