Most of the Transcenders have been on this board for at least a year complaining that they are always out of work. I don't know if they are going to start getting MDI work or not.

I was part-time with MDI and chose to convert to full-time employee when they sold to Transcend. I quit my other full-time job with benefits to work MDI/Transcend full time because I felt Transcend had better health insurance than my previous full-time employer. If they give my MDI work to the Transcenders, I will never be able to make enough money to meet the minimum requirements for benefits. I am officially a nervous wreck.

Come ON! Stop the hand wringing. - Work in TAT, not going anywhere!

Maybe no one heard this said numerous times. If our MDI accounts are staying within TAT regularly enough, NONE OF OUR WORK IS GOING TO GO TO TRANSCEND OR NIGHT-TIME OFFSHORING. I'm not meaning to yell, I'm meaning to be clear that this is what has been said. Are they lying? Maybe. I choose to believe it until I have reason to believe differently. I am choosing to NOT be a nervous wreck!

After my merge to Transcend, I was told that nothing would change, pooling, etc would stay the same, only change being we would be geting paid from Transcend as opposed by the company they merged with. The first week of the merge, I noticed a drastic decline in my primary which I had been typing for 3 plus years. Eventually all my work was coming through my secondary. They eventually took my secondary and tertiary away and moved me to a different region. They had made many excuses when I confronted them. Said I was taking work away from the primaries who were in my secondary acct. They were all of a sudden overstaffed. They took my work away and gave it to other Transcend employees. I have no regular schedule as there is never any work in my pooling. And when there is someone else is grabbing it at the same time. They told me it was a first come/first served basis.

I too came to Transcend in a merger--and my primary account has not gone anywhere, it's as busy as ever, and we can work extra if we want to more often than not.

They did take away my tertiary account; I think it dropped down a crack somewhere when it migrated to BeyondTXT. For this I am VERY glad because I really HATED that account!

And that is why I am posting anonymously, in case someone sees this and wants to reinstate my former tertiary........

I did talk to higher ups and they said they wanted everyone to have just 2 pools when they pulled my teritary and then they pulled my secondary because I was taking work away from the primaries. I asked why there were more MTs in my primary, as I was the only one typing it for years and always had work done with TAT. They stated the work could not set there overnight. They just make excuses and are unwlling to train me on another account because they do not have the resources so I am told.

you're first sentence is almost word for word what we've been told along the way - basically that everything is going to stay the same except your checks will now come from Transcend. I'm a realist. I think it's entirely likely that MDI work will start moving to Transcenders and/or India. One of my accounts was threatened last week with work moving to India if we didn't keep up with TAT at night better. From a business point of view it makes no sense to have full or even half-full accounts when you have other MTs sitting empty with nothing to do. I get it.
If we can't do the work, then Transcend or India should, business standpoint, eh? - Or should MDI/Transcend let work go out of TAT so

They're just blowing smoke to have an excuse to send work to India. They'll say they tried to get people to work nights and weekends, but they couldn't. If this shows up twice, sorry. Don't know where the first one went.

In my primary acct the work is being typed as quick as it put into the system, so it is meeting TAT. I have heard the excuse they could not get anyone to work at night, but even so, if the work was left for the morning crew it still would be typed within TAT.

My accts had a 24-hour TAT prior to my merge with Transcend. My work is clnic work and not hospital dictation.
MDI has accts that have shorter TATs, could not wait til morning. - Someone has to type them NM.

it WILL go out of TAT unless someone on this side of the planet works all night. If it's a contracted 2-hour TAT, the next morning is too late.

The contracts require the company to pay penalties for every job that goes out of TAT, so they're going to get it done, and if they have to send it overseas, so be it. No, I don't like offshoring any more than the rest of you, because of what it's done to our wages, but I am not willing to work graveyard shift, either.

Keep WHAT work in TAT? There is NO flipping work to keep in TAT, lol! Not unless TAT is suddenly 15 minutes or less from dictation to transcription to in the chart, lol!

I think MDI has been skulking about sending work to India for awhile now. That would explain a decent amount of jobs appearing mysteriously that were a couple of days old and obviously out of TAT. Apparently if their ILPs were falling out of TAT, they just re-routed the jobs back to the American MTs.

Hey, do you suppose they threaten the ILPs with US? "If you can't keep the work within TAT, we'll give it to AMERICA!!!"

Yeah, I'm giggling...but it's that derisive chuckle of disbelief that this is really happening.

Heaven help us ALL at Transcend and MDI and anyone else eaten up by Mini-Q. The writing is clearly on the wall.

In my position the work is grabbed up as soon as it is put into the system, typed and back to the chart like you said within 15 minutes!!!!Some days you just gotta laugh I guess, but when the bills come in it is no laughing matter.

You quit another full time job because transcend had better benefits??? Holy crap, the benefits you were getting must have been truly AWFUL!! I am transitioning from MDI to Transcend, but have kept my OWN personally purchased benefits because transcends insurance is some of the worst employee benefits I have EVER seen - $2500 deductible, NO health savings option, and only 80% paid after the deductible. I'm a SMOKER and I'm getting a better deal than that on my own!!!

I am going to take Transcend at their word. I am going to continue to be the best MT (or MLS) that I can and trust that they will find me to be of value to them. If I get screwed, I will communicate with the appropriate parties, and if nothing changes, start looking elsewhere. Mom always said, nothing is constant but change.

Since PTers don't earn PTO, how do you handle taking days off?  I'm considering a schedule that will involve most weekends (to supplement my FT job).  While I don't need to work as much as they require (20 hours), I do need a little extra spending money.  Will taking off a weekend day or 2 a month be a problem?  Has anyone else had to deal with these circumstances?  Just want to know what I'm getting into. ...

On the new platform will you be able to see your line count as you go along or do you still have to go look it up the regular way.  At Webmedx it kept a running tab of your lines on the top of the page and you could kind of pace yourself.   I really liked that. I also was concerned about the statement in the handbook indicating that even as PT we had to put in an 8 hour day on the weekend.  I contacted the appropriate person who informed me that the polices in the handbook are directed to Transcend MLSs that are hired “the normal way,” and not to the MDI MLSs who are coming in via the merger.  Nothing will change about the way you schedule yourself as long as our accounts stay compliant with TAT. I'm just wondering.  I've been with Transcend going on three years now and have never made my minimum lines for part-time.  I've always just worked my shift.  It was never an issue of me hitting my $450 or not.  Now all of a sudden my job is in jeopardy because I'm not hitting it.  I work evenings so I can have help with my kids, but now I'm having to flex days as well to try to meet these lines (horrible ESL and losing a lot of my blank lines ha ...

I have an interview with Transcend on Monday and have read conflicting stories on this board about whether or not Transcend MTs run out of work.  Some you are saying you never run out; some say they hardly ever run out, and some say running out of work is a problem for them.  What's the story on this?  Also, how is the health insurance?  Thanks for any info you have!  ...
