I think I'm getting the hang of BeyondTXT now. I haven't run out of work so far, so that's a good thing, not to say that I won't, but haven't yet. I'm doing ER notes right now. Gonna be given more worktypes next week though. I'm building up my speed slowly but surely. How is it going with the others new to Transcend? :)

The pay is just as low as any other MTSO and not enough work, although Transcend keeps hiring MLS and QA staff. No matter how much you use the keyboard shortcuts and word expander, the pay is at or below minimum wage. If you happen to have a solid week where you earn close to the $950 amount, the mysteriously you will be told there is no work. The editing pay is capped. Working on incentive is hardly worth it as there usually isn't a lot of work in the first place. If you expect not to starve then also look for a second backup job before coming on board with Transcend as the workload is not enough to earn a decent salary. This is the honest truth. I have been literally shocked and beyond disappointed as many bragged about pay and working at Transcend. All I can say from my current experience is this has not been my reality. I'm experienced, over 10+ years, and can hardly get above minimuum wage. Yes, salary may depend on the account. I have kept in contact with other new MLS from training and their situations are no different. Also, each run into the same thing where if you get close to mandatory earnings/line count, then there is no work available.

Probably the only reason I haven't run out is because I don't start work until 8 pm so that's probably the reason I've had work. During the day shifts, it is probably not the case. Also, I too have not went over min wage on pay per hour, but I figured maybe it was because I am learning the acct? I haven't reached 200 lph editing yet. I sure hope I get quicker. No you are not alone in making min wage. I just hope I get faster so that I can make more. I have few options because I need to be able to use sat internet and Transcend is one of the few that will let you use it.

That is what I warned some of in my original posts. Funny how you never seem to quite get where you need to be to get the benes. Wonder how many of the management goes without benes. Have HORRIBLE ESLs and every day is a monumental struggle...yet they keep on hiring. I think it is so when people leave, they have a warm body to shove in their place.

I just wanted to poke in here for a moment, I've been watching your posts, I started maybe a week before you guys...I haven't run out of work (I work 3rd shift), I have an acct with maybe 20% ESL, so I guess there are good and bad accts. I've got experience on a similar platform and I will say once you get the hang of the platform and use shortcuts (and turn that darn highlighter off -ARG) the PLATFORM is capable of 400+ lph with the right dictators...but the dictators make the difference. I wish you all the best, maybe see if there are other accounts within your region for more work?

Since PTers don't earn PTO, how do you handle taking days off? I'm considering a schedule that will involve most weekends (to supplement my FT job). While I don't need to work as much as they require (20 hours), I do need a little extra spending money. Will taking off a weekend day or 2 a month be a problem? On the new platform will you be able to see your line count as you go along or do you still have to go look it up the regular way. At Webmedx it kept a running tab of your lines on the top of the page and you could kind of pace yourself. I really liked that. I also was concerned about the statement in the handbook indicating that even as PT we had to put in an 8 hour day on the weekend. Maybe I'm the eternal optimist. My eyes are wide open, and I've been through previous crappy merger. Maybe The Worst Case will indeed happen. I'm just wondering. I've been with Transcend going on three years now and have never made my minimum lines for part-time. I've always just worked my shift. It was never an issue of me hitting my $450 or not. Now all of a sudden my job is in jeopardy because I'm not hitting it. I have an interview with Transcend on Monday and have read conflicting stories on this board about whether or not Transcend MTs run out of work. Some you are saying you never run out; some say they hardly ever run out, and some say running out of work is a problem for them. What's the story on this? Also, how is the health insurance? Does anyone know if the 8-hour per weekend day requirement stated in the "handbook" online applies to part-time people? Did anyone ask about this in the conference call? Do they really expect people to work every single weekend and never have one off unless they schedule it off?
