Looking for current information on the Medrite platform, please (sm) - anon

The last post that I could find was from 2009 so hoping that things have improved with it. Is it compatible with Windows 7? Is it Word-based? Can you use your own expander with it? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated!

If you do a find search for the word Medrite, I asked about it last week. It is further down the screen. I only got a couple of replies, which are not really much help. I am still wondering about it also. From what I have heard it is hard to get PC Shorthand expander to work on it, which is what I use. Good luck!

I am not sure about compatible with Windows 7. I found that MedRite XL was very, very slow to start up but once you were in it was okay. My PC shorthand worked with it also.

I haven't worked on Medrite in many years (and it was a much earlier version), but I do know that the creator of Medrite is a company out of Canada called Crescendo Systems. You may want to call them directly? I don't know if they would answer your questions, but it might be worth a try.

looking promising from the posts that I have seen on it. Like anything else, there are some that like it and then there are LOADS that hate it, go figure, lol. I pray that I am one that likes it and my production does not suffer like some.

At first I hated it. Then I worked a couple of other horrible platforms, and missed MedRite because it was so much faster and simple.

Hi, I recently spoke to someone from Turn Around Time Transcription. I had found their ad on mtjobs.com. Does anyone have any knowledge of this company? They use the Medrite XL platform and the owner told me all the transcriptionists said it was an easy platform to work on, but then I looked it up and MTs were complaining about the line counts being so low.
