Work is very sporadic, up and down. Cannot depend on enough work for full-time job.
Thank you for the information. I remember I had - applied about two years ago CyndiTx

for a new account or something. They kept telling me they were goine to contact me and it kept getting put off and then nothing. I had hoped their communication maybe had changed since then. The lack of work issue though will be a problem so thanks for the warning.

You NEVER have enough work. I would sit at my computer for 10 hours a day, only to get enough work in for part-time status. They require you to work a set schedule, even though you are an independent contractor. The pay is always on-time, that is if you want to pay $25 to have it overnighted to you. The pay is always correct. But lack of work and having a set schedule while being an IC are some major downfalls. Been there over three years and it has been the same from day one.
Wow. Thank you for that info. $25 to overnight a - paycheck is crazy. CyndiTx

They do have direct deposit but it takes a couple pay periods to set up otherwise you can get your check in regular mail or pay the $25 to get it on the payday. Beware of the payroll department though. That gal is one of the rudest people there. Also, FN does not send out pay stubs, they have an on-line site where you can see your stub and supposedly print it yourself, though it is almost impossible to print and the payroll department refuses to help you in that regard or even send one which they can easily print. They also will not verify employment or IC status if you need that for anything such as applying for credit, etc. As far as work, expect to work A LOT of hours to come up with a decent day's pay but there is work if you can grab it.
Recently, this company has been placing an ad once a month. The pay rate has dropped over time. The current working systems will not generate an income to make up the difference in that decrease in line rate. The availability of work is very sporadic. You will be classified as an independent contractor with a schedule and a minimum line requirement. Almost all of their work has been moved over to speech recognition. ...
Does anyone know where the work has gone lately? Is FN sending the work to other services? Have they overhired again? The workload is way down on many accounts for both transription and speech. Are any of you making your usual lines? Thanks for any insight. ...
Thinking of applying and just wondering about pay, platform, accounts etc. Any information would be good. I just want to make sure it is a good place to work. From the archives, it looks like it is pretty mixed. People either love it or hated it due to the strict scheduling. Is the schedule still strict for ICs? Thanks in advance for your information. ...

Just wanted current information on Focus infomatics. I think we all know the transcription business is overall heading in a horrible direction with the outsourcing and getting paid less for SR, so that is understood. I just want to make there is work, how the platform is, Escription, and how the technical assistance is, as I have to supply own computer. Thanks for the information.
