Chronicle Transcripts. Any current information - on them? Do they pay

on time? Is there a lot of ESL? Is the platform user friendly? Is there really a lot of work? According to there ad it is transcribing and not editing and I'm looking for a company that doesn't do voice editing. TIA

I currently work for Chronicle, and yes, they do have a lot of work. They pay on time and they are pretty flexible depending on account. The staff is friendly and the QA people are really great - not like these others who nitpick over using commas versus semi-colons. They don't do audits because they expect that experienced MTs will consistently turn in high quality reports. There are some ESLs but they are usually not the difficult dictators. The platform is user friendly but I found it to be a little slow compared to others. I saw the ad this morning and I was a little surprised that it didn't mention voice editing. They started the transition to SR a couple of months ago which made me feel like they had already planned it when I was hired last fall but it was never mentioned to me. They still have straight typing, but about 95% of the dictators are doing VR which pays the MT at about 50% of what we get for straight typing. I wouldn't mind so much if we got paid the same rates as for straight typing since it actually seems to be more work per report with VR depending on dictator. I started working for another company last week because I had to type nearly 3 times the number of lines daily and it took me about 10-12 hours a day just to break even because of the pay difference with VR. Love the company but can't afford to stay any longer.

decent living wage at this company? I've gone through the archives and saw comments on the platform but some posts said those issues were resolved. It is possilbe to earn a good paycheck without working 18 hours a day? Do they really have nonstop work consistently or is this just a backlog situation? I'm on the fence and afraid to jump from one pot to another. Thanks for any insight. ...

I have been invited to test for them, but I wonder what kind of company they are. I have IE9 and they want an older version of IE for the test (yes, the dreaded MTTest), but I am just wanting to make sure if I test and get hired, it will all be worth it in the end.
