stretching it a little bit. Name 5 companies who pay more than 0.04 cpl for VR editing.

Funny, I am with you on the pay of 4 cents, standard now - My job pays the same amount

Would be surprised to see if anyone could come up with 5 like you said.
Diskriter pays more than 5, tiered approach,nm - 17yearMT

half asleep, a few that pay more than 4 cpl for VR: MedQuist, Diskriter, StenTel, Transcend, MD-IT, etc. etc. Search the archives & the VR board. Most of the decent companies pay more than 4 cpl for VR.
You say most decent companies pay more than 4 cpl? - Golly gee

Reading the MQ board there are hundreds if not more who would disagree with their company being decent. They also talk about their voice recognition being terrible. That might be 1 reason why the pay is higher there. There are also flames all over the board about Transcend and MD-IT, did those 2 merge or are merging soon? Thanks, I will just stay at my nice job where I am paid 4 cpl for voice and it is really easy for me, nice company I work for.
More power to you. I'll keep my 6. - nm

There was a discussion going on just a few days ago on either this board or the main board about people doing voice and how they could increase the money they make. Very interesting. When I found out what I would be making (the 4) as compared to what I had made, my mind was set then to make a certain amount of money each day on voice. I do have some regular typing but not that much now, mostly voice. It has worked like a charm. The set amount I thought of was what I make. Come to find out there are others out there that do not let the X amount of line pay get to them, they set their goals and make them. Very, very interesting.
Transcend only pays 4 cpl for VR. - sm

They only pay more than 4 cpl if you're on BeyondTxt, and believe me, there is a reason for that. If BT was just as good as the other software they use for VR, they'd be paying 4 cpl for that as well.

VR: The higher the cpl, the more the corrections...nm - .

Diskriter uses a tiered approach....ranging from 4 cpl to 0.056 per line depending on your hourly. I average 0.0525 per line.

Can We Share The 'good' MT Companies To Work With Please!?!
Mar 08, 2010

I've been following the company and job seekers board for quite some time now, and seriously having a hard time staying positive/focused on finding a decent MT job! It seems that there are plenty of negative horror stories here (and definitely worth sharing that info to save other MTs the trouble of wasting our time!!) but I'd like to know about some of your experiences with good companies. So I'm asking for some suggestions on your experiences (past or present) on MT companies t ...

Any Companies Without VR Editing?
Nov 15, 2009

Line Rates Like 3 Cpl For Editing
Jan 04, 2010

I am looking at ads here and keep seeing things like 3 cpl for editing.  Who could work for that rate and why?  These MTSOs really need an awakening.  No one should work for 3 cpl.  Is there anyone who does editing for that kind of rate and actually earns a living?  I say more MTs need to stand up for themselves and say no to this.  Just sayin'.   ...

.03¢ A Line VR Editing
Sep 29, 2010

2 Lines Of Editing Equals 1 Line For Payment
Sep 22, 2010

For those of you thinking of going with FN out of California, when you get your employment package, you will find that 2 lines of work equals 1 line of editing--in other words, you must do twice as much work to get paid for a line of editing.  Of course, you do not find that out until you have invested time and interest with this place.  ...

Line Rates For Editing Has Become Ridiculous - We Need To Make A Difference NOW!
Jan 07, 2010

So, here it goes -- We all know the medical transcription industry has really gone downhill with regard to our pay.  I currently just lost about $10/hour to change to editing and I have been doing it for several months hoping that it would get better, but it has not.  This is just crazy to me.  You still need the same amount of knowledge to create an accurate medical report.   I do not know about everyone else, but the reports I am seeing coming ...

Any Companies Pay More Than 4.5 Cents Per Line On SR/VR?
Dec 15, 2010

I've been working for a national company for over 5 years and all of my accounts have been transitioned to 100% SR work at 4.5 cents per line (a far cry from what I used to make).  I'm now basically making minimum wage due to all the editing that needs to be done to these reports (and we've been on SR for over a year now).  They keep making changes to improve SR but it's just getting worse and worse.  From what I've read it sounds like 4.5 cents per line i ...

Do Companies Hire ICs With A Line Committment Rather Than Hours?
Jan 03, 2015

I have a full-time MT job working in-office, but would like to make extra money as an IC in the evenings and on weekends, but I don't necessarily want to commit to a certain amount of hours, but would rather commit to producing a minimum amount of lines per day or per pay period.  Any companies that work that way? ...

If You're Willing To Share...
May 22, 2012

I'm interested in figuring out the average VR lines per day an MT can average with M*M as well as how many straight typing lines you get per day.  I know this is dependent on a lot of different factors like account and the skill of the MT but, if you are willing to share, I would love for people to post how many lines per day you average on VR and straight typing. Recently someone here mentioned that the top producers in their region were producing 1200 VR lines per day.  I would ...

I am grateful to have a job today.  I am grateful that work is available on that job.  I am grateful that it pays well.  I am just grateful.  It may not always be like that, but the majority of the time I have work, and can make money to pay my bills.  Not alot of people can say that.  Not to mention when I am sick like I am now, I can work in the comfort of my own home.  That in itself is a blessing!  I wish this for all of us.  Anybody else with gra ...

New Job Training Nightmares - Share Yours

This is the 2nd position I have found myself in in under 3 years.  Again, I am facing being trained by a person who is giving me information so quickly, it is impossible to write it down, left alone remember it.  logmein123 - I watch this MT go through the steps and she is moving through the steps at a furious speed, mumbling about going into the wrong window, back out, into something else, "write this down."  Sets me up and leaves out vital step which I don't realize for a ...

Wanted To Share My Triumph!
Aug 22, 2011

I see so much negative posted on this board, that I wanted to share my success, if for no other reason than to show others that it is possible to do well.   I had struggled for a while lately with production because of some personal circumstances, and having a hard time just getting myself in gear and being able to do what needed to be done. Share A Positive About MT Career
Dec 30, 2011

Hi fellow MTs.  As we all know, this board can sometimes be full of negative things, and many MTs who once had a good career in this field are experiencing changes that have negatively affected them and their pay and their lives.  My heart does go out to these people; however, I thought it would be fun to talk about some positives we have experienced in this field, even if we would no longer recommend the field to a new person.  Personally, I have been an MT for 5-1/2 years, and ...
