Anyone with experience on WebChartMD platform? - sm
Posted: Aug 28, 2014
Is it user friendly, productive, etc? Interested in the good, bad, and ugly. TIA.
It is a pretty simple word-based program - sm - JavaMT50

I found it easy to learn to pull up patient demographics, CC recipients, and to navigate the platform, although it is very primitive in that it does not do much more than pull up just the information. Also, if you are cutting and pasting from psst reports, it can be slow and time out.
sorry, my fingers are working faster than my brain, that is supposed to say "past reports" - JavaMT50

and expanders don't work from the left-hand margin unless you enter them twice and sometimes they don't come up if you try on the same spot in a sentence. Personally I don't like it but you use whatever you have to. The only good thing is I don't get many reports to type.
When I worked on it, you had to manually type - ALL headers, and was slow. I

did not like it one bit because the reports were radiology and 3 lines if you were lucky and you were not paid for the headers. By slow, I mean getting in and out of documents.
It was a waste of my time on that type of work.

I don't like online platforms in general - too much opportunity to screw you and you should be an employee not IC if you use one.
My experience so far:
1. Absolutely no support from WCMD. The help file you are sent to figure things out is incomplete, they told me that. Okie dokie but I'm clever so i got it figured out but just the basics and some things I had to ask 3 times get dinged by QA for not doing before I could figure out how to search for a CC doctor for example.
2. Times out and you lose your jobs. If you get that message copy and paste your text into a word document and delete the WCMD file text unless you just like typng reports you won't get paid for and sommeone else does when they pull it up already typed. Save it and it might come back to you, but save it empty in case it doesn't.
3. speaking of pay. That line count.... hmmmmm. its geared more to the dictated minutes and not the size of your document. If you read your info (it's for everyone MTs, MTSOs, doctors) its a selling point that you can monkey with how it counts lines for the MTs/clients. Lovely. And believe me, they do.
4. Disconnects from the server (probably so a dictator can log on or QA) and then reconnnects. Although, I lost a file the other night when I was trying to click a button on the tool bar - unresponsive and disconnected for a long time - finally connected back okay hurry and click the button and ... oh no! "THe file you are working on is no longer routed to you." Lovely, and it was finished, too. it was 2 on 1 so I had to copy the voice file 2 do the last 15 seconds of the file. You're welcome, whoever got that.
5. Cherry picking is encouraged only it's done by the boss. Leave blanks don't look too good or you'll get the crap and never make any money and you'll quit MT sooner. No wait a minute scratch that. Knock yourself out and then quit MT sooner.
Man, I could go on but.... why? You need the job, no? You're not getting any other right now or you wouldn't be asking. They (MTSOs) have you (MT) right now. So, log on, work, and get your teeny tiny paycheck IF you are actually someone who gets paid on time.
I was going to stop but I have to mention if the templates that come up are awful you get to fix them everytime you pull them up. You can't have a word document open when you upload (only one association) or when you enter demo info and click okay.. then you can open a word document but sometimmes word gets stuck and you may sit there a while waiting like if you were going to copy and paste.
it's just some fun stuff, welcome aboard. But, really, I'm not sure it's any worse than anything else that's out there right now. Just par. And webchart MTSOs usually don't do VR (though they can) and they don't usually outsource, so that helps. You are actually supporting the right people in the industry when you work for them. And work is the key word here. You will.
Yes, yes. I am a little sarcastic. Sorry, I'm more than a little fed up.
If you have used both platforms, which one do you like better? Which is more user friendly? Which has more functions?
Also if you are familiar with it from the perspective of working in a facility that accesses their files through Chartnet or WebChartMD, which is easier and more user friendly for the doctors or clinic/facility to access their files for electronic signature, etc.?
Also, if any MTSOs want to chime in if they have used either or both, interested in hearing their thoughts too ...
How, in searching for job, do I even begin to acquaint myself with each & every platform out there? Nearly each job posting uses something different. I had ExpressScribe when at careestep, but notice not many companies use that. ...
Anyone have experience with chartnet platform? What is it like to work on, and are there any compatibility issues if you have chartscript or other platforms already on computer? thanks ...
Anyone out there have any experience with Meditech platform? Keystrokes has been advertising a position for FT straight typing on it. Any input is appreciated. ...
Hi, I recently spoke to someone from Turn Around Time Transcription. I had found their ad on mtjobs.com. Does anyone have any knowledge of this company? They use the Medrite XL platform and the owner told me all the transcriptionists said it was an easy platform to work on, but then I looked it up and MTs were complaining about the line counts being so low. Any info on either the company or the platform? Thanks,
Kathy ...
I have recently started a new transcription company and was all geared up to use WebChartMD but then I saw some negative comments posted about them. I haven't managed to land any clients yet, but I want to be ready to go when I do and don't want to take a chance of losing them due to the platform I choose. Does any one have any experience with WebChartMD? If so, how did it work for you? The thing I liked about them was no money up front and the platform seemed okay. Any inpu ...
I would like to hear your experiences with NetMed's WebChartMD platform. (I've searched the archives to no avail about WebChartMD.)
What specifically do you like or dislike about it?
Is it fiddly with demographics that you have to bounce around to fill?
Are line counts accurate?
The WebChartMD website is not very informative unless you want to provide your email address for a demo. Doesn't even have screen shots.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to inform ...
The VR is subpar. The program itself is not at all transcriptionist-friendly and requires far too many keystrokes. My fingers vary between numb and painful, and my arms feel like they are going to fall off.
Am I missing something? Are there some tips for this program no one told me about? I cannot get close my needed line count with this horrible program. ...
I am a new graduate and need to find a job! I am also new to this site. I got the site info from a friend that has been doing transcription work for many years. She has given me some leads, but as of now, nothing! It appears that most of these companies wnat 2 or more years experience. Does anyone know how I can start and get some experience? I suppose in anything and not just medical. Experience in transcription is experience, right? ...
I have seen that some MTs work two or three companies at a time and during the same hours. Can you tell me if this was working with the same platform and same computer? ...
There is a hospital in my area that has 2 jobs I am interested in, one is a records analyst and the other is a records clerk. I am definitely ready to start working outside of the home, but I fear my MT experience will not help me much in getting one of these jobs. I am just wondering what you all think or if I should bother to apply. I am thinking they are going to want people with hospital experience. Thanks a bunch for any information!! ...
Hi. I was recently hired as an employee with MD-IT. I filled out all my paperwork, did my computer audit, background check, etc. and was supposed to call at 9:00 a.m. this morning to begin downloading their transcription platform. Well, I called and got voicemail. I left a message and have not heard back. To me, if you have an appointment scheduled, you should be available for that appointment. I'm sure they would expect nothing less from me. I real ...
I have been noticing that the experience level required to even get looked at for an MT job has went up. The 2 year experience mark has now went to 3 in most postings, and alot more postings are stating they want a minimum of 5 years. It is an up hill battle in an already hard market but with these kind of requirements I supose the seasoned MT's can rest a little easier and the newbies I guess can look for another line of work. I have already switched my gears and will finish my MA deg ...
I am trying to figure why I never get a call-back on job applications anymore. For instance I applied at one company who was advertising a week or so ago, I'm sure I did perfectly or almost so on the test, never heard from them, and yet now they are advertising again. My range is not great, mostly ER and clinic, so maybe this is the issue but I have applied for these positions recently to no avail.
I have 16 years experience and I wonder if they think I will want too much ...
it's the old question - how to get acute care experience that everyone wants - when none of the local hospitals are hiring for MT (I've checked). I could try "cold calling" doctor's offices and see who does their transcription (unless they have some kind of digital chart system - fill in the appropriate boxes on their laptops - I think our family doc uses that system).
I actually had "formal" hospital acute care training 11 years ago - so seems like a lifetime ago. Th ...
Anyone with any experience with TTD (The Transcription Doctors) in QA-just wondering how QA by the line works, also curious about how this company operates, or anything else that anyone wants to enlighten me on. Archive information is old and not that great at times, and would like some up to date information-good or bad. You may email me if you would like. Thank you fellow worker bees! ...
I just wanted to let anyone who may be interested know what my experience with TTS has been recently. A job for a Delta Team member was advertised, for which I applied with my resume and cover letter. It's worth noting here that I meet every qualification in the ad. The job sounded like it was difficult, but I applied as I wanted a salaried position. I received an e-mail from *******, the same one who was sent packing from another MTSO last year. The e-mail gave all sorts of inf ...
I'm sure everyone is familiar with the situation of not having enough experience to get a job but not being able to get the experience if you don't get a job. I have skiills and talent out the wazoo - I've passed numerous transcription tests - and I nearly always get a quick response to my application and resume submission. HOWEVER, because i've never worked in a hospital and my 10 years of experience was more than three years ago - AND because I that experience w ...
Early on, when your experience was nil, how did you handle the struggle of trying to get your line count up while being challenged with ESL dictators as your training deadline date approached? ...
I was working 40 hours per week as an oncology transcriber until the company I worked for was outsourced by Nuance. Now, I am trying to find another transcribing job that does not require 2+ years of experience. I only have about 15 months of experience in oncology. Does anyone have any idea of how I can get more experience so that I can eventually apply for jobs with 2+ years of experience? I am willing to work cheap just so that I can get that two years in. ...
Hello,
I got a certificate from Allied schools that I completed their course for MT. I was under impression that the certificate was so that I could say I was a certified MT. I was wrong I guess. Makes sense.... I am a licensed vet tech and know that I had to take the vet tech boards before getting my certification/license for that. So my question is HOW do I do this? I want my certification and I want to be able to get some experience so I can say I have experience. HELP PLEASE. ...
Just curious to know if anyone else has ever had points deducted for a cc (taken from the roster) that was incorrect. I just pull in the name when it is dictated, I don't check out their specialty, etc to make sure it is correct. Would you? ...
In all honesty, when I start checking out companies and reviews, all transcription companies seem to have really bad reviews. Are there any decent companies out there?

I am a transcriptionist with 25 years experience who is about to complete my A.S. in health information technology. How do I go about getting a coding job? Everybody wants years of experience, which I don't have. I haven't even completed school or gotten my RHIT and I'm already discouraged. Please tell me there is hope! My training included ICD-10, so I am hoping that will give me a bit of an advantage. ...
I've been working doing transcription full time for a small privately owned company for over a year. I am nearly done with my certification and lucked into this job through a friend. I am also a Medical Assitant and work full time at another job (nonmedical...I relocated and have been unable to find a job in my field). As I am learning on-the-job, I have been given a Neurologist, Urologist, Pain Management and Orthopedic Surgeon as my full time doctors. I don't ...
