Your friend probably knows more about this career path, but there is no way a CR makes 80K a year. Coding analysts and high level compliance people don’t even make that kind of salary. I worked on site at facilities that employed registrars and I think that some of what they do requires a coding background. I also think that jobs in this field are not plentiful and like coding, it’s difficult to get a foot in the door if anyone is hiring. You need to complete a certification exam and maintain credentials. I hope this works for you, but I also agree that it is not a sure thing.
