MTs are most definitely a contributing factor! When they continue to accept the low wages, balk at taking a stand against being cheated because they are afraid of being fired then it becomes a standard.
Your defeatist attitude is not helping. You are clearly intimidated by the "company with a million lawyers and billions of dollars to pay those lawyers." Unless you can offer some useful insight as to how these wrongs can be righted then get back to your state of denial.
