It's 2003. HIPAA is alive and well. A Pakistani transcriptionist contacts UCSF Medical Center and threatens to release their medical records unless she is paid what she's owed.

It happened in a major city, San Francisco. At a major facility, UCSF Medical Center. And was reported by a major media outlet, The SF Chronicle/SFGate.

It's fair to assume we all were alive in 2003. Did anything come of this? Does anyone other than me even remember it?
