explaining gap in empoloyment to potential employer - if it was caused by s.m.

I have been absent from MT for over 2 years due to a health problem, but do not want to have to jinx a possible job with that concern.  What can you tell potential employers about this gap in employment without raising concerns or being rude?  Thanks!
