Same for me too. I wanted employee but the line rate was low and, well, the benefits SUCKED with useless health insurance so I figured I would go with higher line rate and IC status. I got this contract to sign stating the same thing, exact hours, ask for time off, etc.
I am going to take it. The line rate is good. If I leave an hour early or start an hour late I guess they can get someone else. I got the same story from my current job and you know what, the team leader does not care where I am at. I know that the hiring HR people feel very differently than the people leading the "team" or whatever. If you are a good transcriptionist, I have found the team leaders are not so picky if they want to keep you. Good luck!
