I would read thru various reports (already typed) and list my expanders and then input them into Shorthand or whatever the expander program was on my own time. That usually took a surprisingly long time. If I was typing and entering expanders at the same time, it made me slow but I HAD to get the expanders in. If you had expanders at home, you could see if the dictionaries were compatible (mine never have been so I always have to start at the beginning every time). It makes me crazy to have to type out hysterectomy, intervertebral, etc., etc.
