I'm out of it now, and will NEVER go back to MT. NEVER. I am so happy, relieved, stress-free, and looking forward to a future in a whole different career, even at my age.

I will make it and have a good life. Not only because getting out of MT, but I will be in a decent-sized town where there are other opportunities, and wont be stuck in a backwater boonies hole in the dirt where there are no opportunities at all.

My appetite has gotten less, no more stress eating.

Lots of benefits to getting out. You have to use this time to restructure your life and make the most of this time off!!! Look on the positive side of it!!

They have me on pre-termination notice now. Apparently now they tell you when they are going to fire you, so you can go ahead and work an extra 1 or 2 weeks until they get around to actually firing you.

I've decided that when the axe drops I'm not EVER going to work as an MT again. Not even going to apply for another transcription job. I don't much care what I do, but it will not be transcription. The beauty of being on the bottom is - it does not take much for it to be an improvement, and ANYTHING will be an improvement over this kind of work.

Being told they are going to fire you generates anticipatory jubilation much like a child whose mother says, "SANTA IS COMING!"

Having to wait 2 weeks for that to happen feels like forever.

Sounds as if you have become enlightened because your description of Santa coming is too cute and amazingly accurate. Being firing from this company is indeed a gift, a blessing. Nuance is the worst joke ever played on me. The rewards of losing that job are too numerous to mention, so don't look a gift horse in the face. I'm overjoyed for you!

Hey - I have definitely had a loss of appetite and I don't enjoy food anymore. Also, my cats seem upset and they sleep all the time and act like they are dying.

All summer, my cat was rather lethargic and slept more than usual. When I worked, she would jump up and I would give her cat treats and she would sit on the back of my PC. Then one day, she just stopped eating and then stopped drinking. I had to use a syringe to give her water and broth but she wanted no part of it. She was close to 16 but I think she was feeling my despair. Very sad. All I have now is a parakeet to keep me company.

My heart aches for you losing your kitty. I lost one of mine about a month ago, and every once in a while it hurts all over again, even though I have other fur babies - they all have their own personalities.

You know you can tell how much transcription has gotten you down by counting the number of cats you have. AT 102 cats and counting I think I'ma need another job just to buy cat food!

I'm looking forward to making friends, getting some exercise actually moving around instead of being chained to a chair, and the blessed, blessed satisfaction of a steady dependable income that I will be paid regardless of stuttering, mumbling, interruptions, changes, research, phone calls, tech issues, emails, or just leisurely gossiping in the halls!

I have read so many good things about Opti-Script - tested recently but no openings right now. Low turnover rate - which is GOOD! So I'll wait.....So many slave shop companies out there - I don't want to go that route. Talked with some companies and tested with some. I edited a report in which I changed leukoesterase to leuk esterase, however, when I went to upload, spellcheck found "leukoesterase" which no longer was visible in the report (at least not what was on my screen!). I went back in and deleted the whole word, then put it in again as two separate distinct words and that time, spellcheck accepted it. But what worries me is does this occur other times? I have never had this much trouble before doing my job. I will have 99% on those FIESA and then 1 report will be a C and my QA averages out to a "C" 99.3%. So, I NEED a job! I have one, but we are ALWAYS out of work and I need some supplemental income.
