Now I'll admit it would be a lot less interesting, but at least it wouldn't be so volatile all the time. Sometimes I leave here just feeling like crap, even when I'm not involved, just from reading all the fighting going on.

Some people get their kicks out of stirring the pot - and posting mean and insulting posts.

When someone tries to attack me I just ignore it. Once I close the web browser, its the end of it. I dont let it weigh on me because its just the internet. They dont know me and I dont know them.

Very true. There's a lot of mean-natured people on here that try to start something - with almost every post.

It really ruins the board and makes it hard to have any real meaningful conversations. Some people like drama. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of jumping in to defend people who are being unfairly attacked and need to learn to stay out of it and giving these losers what they want.

You know, I took a couple days off from this site last week, and I think I'll be leaving here for good sooner rather than later.

When I wasn't visiting this site, I felt a lot better mentally and emotionally. I felt more positive about life in general.

It's similar to the old adage "you are what you eat." I feel like the more time I spend here, the more I'm turning into some bitter, crabby shrew...the type of person I'm really not.

Plus, all the bickering is really depressing. Do people really NOT have anything better to do than fight with each other?

If I had work, I probably wouldnt be here - bored stiff

I realized the less work I had, the more I was on here. What I started doing, though, is setting my timer for 5/10 minutes and walking away to do something else...put stuff away, wipe down some counters, etc. Little things, then I would come back and see if I had work. I didn't, usually, so would reset the timer. In the end, I felt like I at least accomplished something, it got me moving, and kept me from being sucked into the black pit of meanness that epitomizes this site.

I understand the negativity. I dont understand the lack of support for both positive situations and negative situations. We should be able to do that without being mean.

There are less and less people because there are less and less transcriptionists. The ones here have every right to be angry and bitter, and to complain as they see fit. The people who are still doing well have every right to post about their good day.

What I really see happening is those who are happy just posting something completely antagonizing. They dont just say, "I had a great day at work" or "I made great lines today." They post that they are so happy and that the rest of us are lazy and whiny. Then, the ones accused of being lazy and whiny have a complete melt down.

It is the same post, the same wording, day after day, week after week. I think the moderator should just delete the posts that start off like that. Ya wanna be condescending and antagonizing, then you get deleted.

Would solve a lot of problems.

I disagree. I think it's the ATTACKS that are driving people away. To say it's the "negativity" sounds like just another way of saying that the MTs who are not happy about how they're getting screwed are just being "negative" and should stop "whining."

If I were dealing with what an awful lot of my colleagues at MTSOs are currently dealing with, you can be GOOD and sure I'd be "negative"!!!

It's suppose to be the job of the moderator to try to keep things under control so that folks are'nt being attacked. Unfortunately, since there is such a fine line between freedom of speech versus being downright insulting many get away with being mean and nasty.

Only thing I can recommend is to try to limit the amount of time you spend here. The poster above hit the nail on the head when she said she spent a couple of days away last week and noticed the difference it made.

It would be a good site if we could have good conversation without insulting one another and calling each other liars because we have varying experiences. Pretty sad because most here post they've been in the business 20 to 30+ years which leads me to believe the majority of posters are older individuals, like maybe 50s and 60s, but yet the behaviors are child-like.

Nothing. If you feel like crap after reading the fighting, stop reading it. you can skip over to something that interests you, you can start your own intersting post. You have options. You get out of this board what you take. Try not to be so sensitive to posts that don't involve you. Easier said that done at first, but it gets easier. Good luck.

I edited a report in which I changed leukoesterase to leuk esterase, however, when I went to upload, spellcheck found "leukoesterase" which no longer was visible in the report (at least not what was on my screen!). I went back in and deleted the whole word, then put it in again as two separate distinct words and that time, spellcheck accepted it. But what worries me is does this occur other times? Are our edits somehow NOT being recognized on the other end? Heaven know ...

I have never had this much trouble before doing my job. I will have 99% on those FIESA and then 1 report will be a C and my QA averages out to a "C" 99.3%. What happens if I never get a score higher than that? Fire me? Cool beans! Need a vacation anyway !!! Seriously, what the hell is this QC crap? So, I NEED a job! I have one, but we are ALWAYS out of work and I need some supplemental income. Slowly they will transfer accounts, one by one, to India, starting with the easiest accounts/work types first. Soon we here in the US will be left with ONLY the bottom of the barrel indecipherable CRAP........which we will have to send to QA hence our pay will be practically reduced to what they pay for Indians to do the work. I rarely get complete mouth extraction reports, and when I do they usually have the same instruments used in them, but I have a burr that I am not familiar with. It sounds like crivet or cribet.
