General Office Clerk, Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, Richmond, IN - I found this interesting

Posted: Jun 28, 2014

Thought the suits might be interested to see "comparable wages" in my neck of the woods.

Preferred familiarity with medical terminology. Demonstrates courtesy, attitude, respect and enthusiasm (C.A.R.E.) in all interactions....

$11.72 - $13.46 an hour

Owing to disability and not being able to dig my car out of the driveway every day in winter, I cannot even apply for this. Boy, sure would be nice to earn a living like this on a daily, steady, hourly basis (working with nice people every day).

Alas, I have twice the training required to do the job and am stuck with Nuance with QC as something to look forward to in terms of promotion.

I would not count on QC as a promotion in your - plan. QC is constantly out

of work these days. It's no different than on the MT side these days. Oh, and we are dinged to death in FIESA too on our reports.

Facetious, not meant to be taken seriously or literally - Would not take it if they offered

A "promotion" that is.

I figure if I can't support their business model at my level, why would I try at some other level of the organization.

The transcription portion of Nuance is a business model that simply cannot succeed, IMO.

Dinged - MTIT

IMHO, if QC is getting "dinged to death" than what does that say about QC with our reports???????

It means we're charged with the MLS error if - even if the report was not 100% reviewed.

That same smaller hospital starts - Depressed

food workers at $10.77 an hour, laundry workers at $12.70 an hour, and home-based MTs at $15.32 an hour.

Line halfway across the United States - Not holding my breath

This place has not hired an MT, office- or home-based in a very long time (that I am aware of).

What Is Expected In General Office Work Nowadays?
Mar 07, 2013

Back in my day, it was typing on a Selectric, making copies and filing, phone duties, mail and making coffee. I would like to work for a temp agency to feel out some companies. Can anyone elaborate on what software one should know and what else is now expected? Any good software tutorials? I am much obliged. I want out of this madness and will prepare myself in the meantime. I am sure some others could benefit from anyone's input. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and adv ...

Could Anyone Who Has An HRA (health Reimbursement Arrangement) Type Of Health Care
May 04, 2010

tell me how that works?  I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan.  If your  company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500?  I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan.  TIA ...

Are There Any Hospital Clients That Actually Care About The MTs That Type Their Reports?
Apr 07, 2010

The hospital (client) of the company I type for, just updated their system.  This was a so-called big deal.  I was excited because they use a program that I know has potential to make a lot more shortcuts and less mouse use available for the MTs, that they did not utilized, but today, I started typing on the "new updated" version just to find there are more fields I have to fill in on the patient profile screen, there is more mouse use, and more looking up, and going out of the program ...

I Wonder What This Health Care Reform Will Do
Mar 23, 2010

I pay very little attention to what Washington does, but I have to wonder if this new health care reform that dear old Obama has finally pushed through is going to affect our jobs and pay rate.  My husband gets good insurance through UPS, and he says that it will make his insurance less because according to this bill, everyone gets the same coverage.  At least that's how he explained it. So is this going to cost doctors and hospitals money, and if it does, is that going to make t ...

Health Care Management Or IT?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I know with IT I'd need to keep up a bunch of certificat ...

Article - Health Care Law Prohibits Data
Jun 27, 2010

Moderate, please don't move this to offshore board. It needs to be seen by more people. Exerpt: "The new law imposes limits on outsourcing by American insurance companies and medical service providers. In addition, several categories of data are prohibited from flowing offshore. As a result, many Indian outsourcing firms have begun setting up shop in the United States. America’s outsourcers are now outsourcing back to America." Fox/general Transcriptionists (general Question)
Aug 17, 2012

If you do general transcription, can you recommend a good (free or low cost) transcription program for audio files?  I tried InqScribe and it works okay, but I don't like that they make you use their built-in word processing program that doesn't have any text expanders. I use Express Scribe.  Do they have a way to transcribe videos?  (I think it has something called Prism video, but I never figured out how to use it).  Thanks. ...
