I was "terminated" after within 1 week of my company-approved (FMLA) leave of absence. The excuse they used was that my company "could not accommodate" a leave of absence for the extended period of time that I would be out of work. I needed the extended leave of absence because I had CMC arthroplasty with pin placement. I went through the Transcend orientation yesterday for (former) DTS employees transitioning to the new company. It left me very, very, very sad. Transcend's methodology is so different from DTS. The requirement of the $900 per pay period of full-time employees will be so difficult to achieve on this new BeyondText speech recognition as my pay will be cut based on what other MTs have told me!!! (That and IF the work is available which in the past with DTS has been very off and on.) ...

I just had a chance to see the NextGen EHR demo videos. The incentives for using EHR from the insurances companies are huge. It amounts to $3,000 per doctor per month. The doctor won't be able to fiddle with the computer to create EHR.
