If we think things are bad NOW with NJA and work flow ... just wait.  Each Workflow Manager has only been given ONE "POD" so far but as of this week, they will each be given a SECOND POD to oversee, each POD having at least 200 employees.  The Workflow Manager that I've been assigned to told me on the phone this morning that her mind-bending work load is about to DOUBLE and that she will be overseeing 400 employees.  She said she hopes she didn't make a big mistake by taking the position.

You think we're running of work NOW?  Just wait.  Things are about to get crazy.

Risking quality. Their model of having MTs type from random accounts all over the Country is going to end up costing them accounts.

that the people who made this decision about "pods" have no clue that it takes repetition for an MT to become efficient when working on the same account day in and day out. They are going to lose accounts and probably to their biggest enemy - Nuance. They got rid of the best of the best already so that only goes to prove their stupidity.

the KNOW this. its their plan. its how they keep from paying us a liveable wage. no one really cares about quality. i mean, the hospitals and the doctors don't care that much. they just want the info in their data banks pronto. i've had plenty of doctors tell me they don't really care if things are mispelled, as long as the basic info is correct. MModal is simply making sure they narrow the playing field as much as possible and keep us from getting good or better at what we do so they can keep their expenses down.

That made me laugh! I've done QA work for several of them - they didn't put the "best" in the Coding program (by FAR) ... they put the ones who could Google the test answers the fastest.

My team had 5 members accepted into the program. Interestingly, 4 of those 5 members were on the brink of being performance managed because of accuracy and production issues and barely escaped being laid off with their admission into the program.

Being considered one of the "best" employees and being someone who passes tests are two vastly different things.

I didn't even try to go to the coding program, for 2 reasons, first being I am close to retirement so I didn't want to take it away from a newer person that needs to be here a while, and second I hate taking tests. I am good at what I do, but take it out of the context of a report and put it in test format and my brain just goes somewhere else. ADHD to the max, the older I get the worse it gets. 6 months and counting

their best MTs and MMEs that they rely on to keep quality work flowing & risk putting them in some thrown together experimental program someone came up with at the last minute, which still may not amount to anything. I'm sure they used disposable or mediocre employees for that.

are doing away with transcription altogether, and using doctor-entered EMRs. It's all going to go away, it's just a matter of how soon.

Anyone know if we are still supposed to be calling the workflow team when there is no work available?  It's not listed under the work availability policy as something you need to do, and then when you call, you are put on hold and it states the hours are "4 p.m. to 9:30 a.m."  Is this Eastern Time, Central Time, Pacific Time???  Frustrating to say the least. ...

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor.  You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars.  Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India.  What a difference.  They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years.  The US transcriptionists are very sad!!  What a difference..... ...

I have had only good experiences with TT account managers.  They have always answered my emails promptly and been very willing to be flexible with my scheduliing.   AD has always taken the time to make personal phone calls to MTs when more info is needed or something didn't go through the system, to make sure they get paid on time.   I'm sure they share our stress over the accounts going to EPIC.  I just wanted them to know they are appreciated for all their hard wo ...

Nuance Only Pays Their Middle Managers Well

I personally know someone who works as a middle manager for Nuance, makes well over 50,000 and has had constant raises since being hired.  From what she tells me she is very effective, but even the other middle managers who are not at all effective with huge make up costs and teams who fail audits constantly do not get terminated.  Plus, they do not have to be MTs.  They just sit in their home office and write rah rah emails to their team to keep them going and make sure they cove ...
