Critical Care MT getting clinic notes? - st

Posted: Sep 06, 2011

Are there any other Tier III critical care MT/editors getting only clinic notes?

Yes -- drove me crazy for a while. Now I have - acclimated. Still rather have

acute care/hospitals, but at least it is work.

I am slower on clinics -- hospitals have most stuff - in the data base. On clinics

there is a lot of info that has to be looked up and added in and carbon copies and letters, etc. Way slower.

Clinic notes - st

This is the pits to me. I would have done clinic notes 30 years ago when I was starting out but I hate them! I'm definitely looking for work somewhere else - though maybe that's what they want.

yes, clinic notes - bentfingers

Tier III with the clinic notes about one-third of work I do. The dregs, I tell you!

Even though you might consider this beneath you, at least you are making SOME money. I changed to weekends. TONS of work and then some. $$$

Everybody else saying no work on weekends. - Which is it?

nm

I also get mostly clinic notes and am slower on - clinic note queen

the clinic notes. When I do get an acute care note It makes me happier for the little bit of time it takes me to do it. Then I'm sad when I get another clinic note. Oh well.

Clinic Notes = No Money?
Apr 16, 2010

I lost my primary accounts recently and was switched to an account where most of the jobs are really short clinic-type notes (less than a minute).  This pay period, my paycheck will be over $200 less than it was when I had my primary accounts, and I'm barely making my minimum line counts.  I've been doing this job for a long time and have always had really good line counts before.  I've been feely really down in the dumps like maybe I've just kind of lost ...

Question To Those Of You Who Do Clinic Notes...
Jul 28, 2011

Has anyone started to get more work in the last year (in a clinic setting)? It was steady for me a few years ago, and now I am overwhelmed with the amount of dictation I have!! Each of the doctors I work for are seeing wayyy too many patients in one day, thus more dictating, etc.  Im putting in like 10-12 hour days now, whereas I used to only work 5 or 6. They are scheduling the patients all at the same time, making them wait in the waiting room for a couple hours, and ...

Orthopedic Clinic Notes Ad, Anybody Figure It Out?
Mar 31, 2011

Tired Of Progress, Clinic And Office Notes
Jan 06, 2015

Are there any companies anymore who do not do progress notes, clinic notes and office notes?  I want to get back to the basic 4, especially operative notes but they seem to be far and few between.  Maybe it is just me but I cannot get a decent line count when I have to jump from one clinic specialty to another all day long. ...

Typing A Physiatry Clinic Notes - Has Anyone Ever Heard Simvastating
Feb 12, 2015

The doctor says the patient is simvastatin 300 mg, metformin 1000 mg b.i.d., glimepiride 2 mg b.i.d., multivitamin, and calcium.  The patient has myofascial neck and shoulder pain and is diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have never heard of simvastatin given at 300 mg, but was wondering if maybe this is some sort of alternative use for fibromyalgia or whatever.  Anyone?  I reference the only other note that this patient has and it lists simvastatin 300 mg as well, but I'm ...

Going From Clinic To Acute Care . Any Suggestions?
Apr 19, 2010

I have been a clinic MT for 18 years.  How can I advance to Acute Care?  Can anyone explain to me how exactly Acute Care differs from clinic, other than the obvious such as types of notes (I already type H&P's and consultations with outpatient op notes).  Thanks for any input. ...

Excellent Article About The Deterioration Of Notes For Patient Care
Sep 19, 2014

I have always hated it when the doctor crams in every disease the patient has in the first line whether or not the list is relevant to the chief complaint.  I can't think of anything more pointless than having a PA or resident dictate discharges when all he or she does is lift the consultants' impressions and plans and then plug in his or her standard "vital signs remained stable and the patient was discharged in stable condition."  They just chant thru it, as fast as possib ...

Got A Critical Error For "omitting Dictation Of A Critical Nature."
Jan 04, 2010

The dictator said "... will get cardiac enzymes and will get a carotid Doppler in the morning...", or something similar, I have deleted the report.  I left out the second will.  This is not a verbatim account.  Critical error for omitted dictation pertains to lab results, normal values, etc.  I didn't think the word will meets that criteria.  I also had Tylenol No. 3 changed to Tylenol #3.  The drug lists still show it as No. 3.  ...

Another Sad Option For Medical Care Is Charity Care. Work With The People
Nov 06, 2014

...bills. Most Saint hospitals and others actually operate as non-profits, and for what they are screwing us over in taxes unpaid, they can afford to help out folks with their bills and still give their CEOs generous stock options and obscene salaries! CRITICAL ERRORS
Jun 15, 2010

Has anyone at the Q been getting hit by "critical errors" on crazy stuff that has never been an issue BEFORE?   All of the sudden, after no feedback for about a month, no audits, nada, zilch, I got my audit and was given critical feedback for not capitilizing a department! (recovery room, radiology suite, cardiac cath lab...)  AND, in a verbatim report, with a client profile that says specifically, DO NOT ADD A HEADING IF ONE IS NOT DICTATED, for NOT adding a heading!  This makes me nuts ...

So What Is The Process If You Get A Critical Err
Jun 24, 2011

GD SOB! Have been passing all the audits with flying colors (99% or better), even the audit earlier this week.  but then I got an email today of a report with critical errors.  Real bad doctor who mumbles and changes his mind in midsentence but doesn't say 'scratch that' or 'correction' or anything like that.  sheesh.  so do they automatically put you on disciplinary action or cut your pay for one bad report?  or do i hope that on my next ...

So, I Get A Critical Error...
Apr 19, 2014

I'm supposed to provide feedback. Okay, fine, here it is: It was a typo. I sure learned a lot from your snarky auto message. Why do you have to keep making people feel bad for making a freaking typing error? Whoever is running the show at Nuance really needs to seek help. All you (they) can do is cut our wages and find fault with our work? It must be stupendously reassuring to be you and be so perfect. ...

URGENT CRITICAL BACKLOG!!!
Sep 26, 2010

So I check MQ Central as usual before starting my shift this morning.  Found 4 messages stating critical backlog with weekend incentive.  I sign on.  No jobs.  I'm tier 3.  Never saw NO JOBS first thing on my regular Sunday shifts.  WHAT THE ____?  I read on to get a slap on the wrist from my RTL.  Why didn't I send a report to QA that had multiple blanks.  I tried to be objective, but it was for the usual reasons I send multiple-blank repor ...

Critical Backlog In North??? What's Up?
Oct 26, 2010

Don't know what's going on, but I have had an abundance of my primary yesterday and today.  Usually only very few reports and then being jumped around to different accounts during the day, with frequent periods of NJA.  Now all the sudden we get an E-mail because we have a "critical backlog."  Is India on strike or something?  Actually, my account supposedly has a clause in that says they will not allow work to go to India.  I don't get it.  I'm ...

Critical Error On Job Feedback
Nov 13, 2013
