Orthopedic Clinic Notes ad, anybody figure it out? - Dolly

Posted: Mar 31, 2011

I applied to this ad and received an answer.  I got some very vague instructions on how to type the voice file.  Did anybody figure it out?  It sure would be nice to just receive a voice file in the email, transcribe it and then send it back to their email address.

I had no problems. Used expresscribe and transcribed it in word and uploaded it back to ftp site through expresscribe. Piece of cake. She is basically looking for knowledge on how to send and receive through an FTP site and retrieve the voice file besides your ability to transcribe an orthopedic file. Smaller companies and MTSO use the ftp.

I am glad you figured it out. I guess that job is not meant for me. I already have a job I love. I have found that the really good companies don't make you jump through hoops to test with them.

why on Earth in this environment would anyone who has a job they love test for another? - nosense or is that nonsense?

I really don't knee an answer...

I love my job too but it might be disappearing in the near future. I am testing so that I don't have to end up on the unemployment line, there is nothing wrong with being proactive and it is not nonsense. Maybe the OP just wants some extra PT work for additional income. I know you didn't need an answer but there it is.

Clinic Notes = No Money?
Apr 16, 2010

I lost my primary accounts recently and was switched to an account where most of the jobs are really short clinic-type notes (less than a minute).  This pay period, my paycheck will be over $200 less than it was when I had my primary accounts, and I'm barely making my minimum line counts.  I've been doing this job for a long time and have always had really good line counts before.  I've been feely really down in the dumps like maybe I've just kind of lost ...

Question To Those Of You Who Do Clinic Notes...
Jul 28, 2011

Has anyone started to get more work in the last year (in a clinic setting)? It was steady for me a few years ago, and now I am overwhelmed with the amount of dictation I have!! Each of the doctors I work for are seeing wayyy too many patients in one day, thus more dictating, etc.  Im putting in like 10-12 hour days now, whereas I used to only work 5 or 6. They are scheduling the patients all at the same time, making them wait in the waiting room for a couple hours, and ...

Tired Of Progress, Clinic And Office Notes

Are there any companies anymore who do not do progress notes, clinic notes and office notes?  I want to get back to the basic 4, especially operative notes but they seem to be far and few between.  Maybe it is just me but I cannot get a decent line count when I have to jump from one clinic specialty to another all day long. ...

Typing A Physiatry Clinic Notes - Has Anyone Ever Heard Simvastating
Feb 12, 2015

The doctor says the patient is simvastatin 300 mg, metformin 1000 mg b.i.d., glimepiride 2 mg b.i.d., multivitamin, and calcium.  The patient has myofascial neck and shoulder pain and is diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have never heard of simvastatin given at 300 mg, but was wondering if maybe this is some sort of alternative use for fibromyalgia or whatever.  Anyone?  I reference the only other note that this patient has and it lists simvastatin 300 mg as well, but I'm ...

How Do You Figure Out This ????
Jul 21, 2010

I am not good in math and would like to know how you figure out which is better 7 cpl w/spaces and a 55-char. line or 8 cpl w/spaces and a 65-char. line?  I am told the 7 cpl rate uses a lot of canned text that you get paid the full amount for so this should be a plus. I wonder if the in-house employees, office employees, have their time as scrutinized as ours is.  I wonder if they get docked for, let's say, going to the bathroom or getting a cup of coffee.  I know the transcriptionists working in-house make $15 an hour to start.  There was a job advertised 6 months ago or so, and I questioned it.  Here is their reasoning:  Because they have to drive and wear dress clothes, they make more money.  What the #$)(.  I have t ...

Hi! I have been a transcriptionist for over 15 years.  I have only worked in a hospital and from home.  The home  job had been ELIMINATED, so I have not transcribed in about a year and a half.  I have never had to figure my lines as the hptl or powers that be have always just magically issued a paycheck.  Recently I was offered a PT job typing for a local clinic and I need work so of course I accepted and offered 8 cents a line.  I know a line is based on a 65-char ...
