I swear I stopped coming to this board a month or two ago, and today is my first day coming back and it is the same thing! Oh, MT is not what is used to be...oh, we make minimum wage...oh, I hate my life....oh, blah blah blah. If you hate it so bad, then quit and go work at McDonald's! Leave this business and give us MTs who enjoy their job more work to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you so dislike what is posted on these boards, why come back? Just to insult the rest of us?

I am glad to you like your job and that you are not in the position that some of us are, "blah blah blah..." Have you ever heard of the golden handcuffs? This and many other reasons that you don't seem to understand is why we are still here. Obviously, you have no helpful information or input here, so why are you posting rude comments?

People who are weak usually use rudeness as their strength.

Well, duh! Many have gone on. This is just a place where they can vent! What more appropriate web site can you think of to do this? If you have one, give it up. You go work at McDonald's! At least it pays more than what MTSOs pay per line. What's the matter with you?

Same old song is right. Nothing has changed so people have the same problems. People don't gripe because they enjoy being negative. Believe me, we'd love to be up writing what a wonderful company we work for. I'm very glad to hear you are happy. I realize there are still many happy MT's out there. However, there are also many struggling and for you to discount this implies you are a very insensitive person. Ask yourself, why are so many people still up here with the same complaints. Obviously, because times are tough for us MT's. And it's not about the economy so please don't go there. It's about honest and ethical business practices. It's about loyalty and compensating a worker fairly. I know of no other industry where we sit waiting for work while not being paid just to name one of MANY reasons people are still on this board with negative comments.

Until you WALK IN OTHERS SHOES...you need to cease with that high and mighty attitude. You may end up working at a fast food joint one day. Be careful of what you say to others and be careful when JUDGING others! What is wrong with some of these people...must be a full moon! LORD!!!!!!!

I started with Transcriptions Ltd in Jan of 1981 and this job gave me the opportunity to work from home while I raised 3 wonderful boys. I am saddened that I'm going to quit, but I knew the end was coming for quite a while now. I am grateful that, at one time, this was a good job, a really good job. I'm very sorry for the younger MTs who would like to be able to do the same thing as I did; stay at home and raise their kids and make a living. I wish them all well ...

Which is correct: "The patient is here for a 3-month followup visit." or "The patient is here for a 3 month followup visit." I was always told in this instance that it is without the hyphen becuase putting the hyphen in it will mean that the visit is 3 months long versus a visit at 3 months' time. Which is the correct way to do this? I got a correction back on a file and I was pretty sure I had it right. ...

Basically, it's been working out fine until one day last week when I received an email from the transcription manager saying that was "short on my time" on one specific day. I've been all over the place today, from California to New York and everywhere in between, and not a single report from ANY of my "primaries" ... not even one. There doesn't seem to be ANY rhyme or reason to the type or location of the reports I've gotten ... it's crazy. I'm an IC but I don't work for any company, I have my own clients. One of my clients hasn't paid me since August, claiming a cash flow problem and they stated they "want to pay me asap". a correction to be made (it's been 3 days!). I'm wondering if I should go ahead and approve it anyway, even though if I do I will be short 3 hours for the week w/o the correction. I'm afraid I won't be paid at all if I don't approve. Does anyone know if you still get paid if your time card is not approved or approved late? I wonder how long I should wait? TIA ...
