Had along conversation (meeting) with the HR person or possibly owner regarding this company and what they had to offer. I was STUNNED. (By the way, none of her seeker posts have the ability to post a reply only to post through email - does she not want others posting their shock as to her offer? She has a new account that many MTs will be "off QA in a couple of weeks". Timeframes in this business are never absolute and can get extended infinitely. In the meantime all MTs still on QA will need their reports 100% QA'd. She has MT positions that are straight typing but on IC status and only 7 cpl. Hold onto your hat here, QAs line rate is......drum roll.....2 cpl, meaning if one is QA'ing MTs at 100% review and considering a moderate amount of QA accomplished at most services would be 150-200 lph, at the 150 lph for 8 hours that would be 1200 lines per 8 hour shift. That's a WHOPPING 1200 lines x 2cpl, equally a total of $24 for an 8 hour shilft, broken down further at $3 an hour. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? "More MTs will be released all the time". I certainly hope so, but as was stated in the meeting "we all have to continue to be more and more competitive in this business and there are a lot of people out there desperate for work. Besides all MTSO's take a complete loss on the cost of QAs". At $3 an hour, I can't even begin to describe how insulting that is and how horrific iMEDat's business practices are that would even offer this to anyone!!! Personally I could never be that desperate. I can clean public toilets for at least minmum wage. Please be VERY careful. No one with quality skills should ever be offered 2 cpl to QA, not to mention 7 cpl to type if you take into account the tax responsibilies an IC has to bear!! Never in my worst nightmares would a MTSO go so low in the MT industry. Is this a sign of things to come?? I'm so utterly disgusted I don't think there is even a word to describe it. I took a lot of time thinking over posting this, but if someone does make these unscrupulous practices known, what will stop them?

This was about 3 years ago, but they paid me 1 cent per line MORE than the normal line rate. Wanted to make up for getting used to the account As soon as you were off QA, you went to your normal line rate but I thought it was a very nice gesture on their part.

I have 2 job offers from 2 different companies, but both of these companies are fairly large and have multiple posts with complaints that there is just not enough work for everyone. Wow. I was just offered a job by MQ. I politely asked if the 'rumors' were true about being docked for sending reports to QA. I was informed that if you are supposed to do 6,000 lines a week and 300 lines total come to QA, then yes you would be docked 3 cents per line. I lost my job a few months ago. I started applying, testing, waiting to hear from companies. I did get hired this week part-time for VRE work and it pays peanuts. I got a job offer at Probity. The pay has an incentive built in for anything over 5000 lines per pay period. Does anyone know what the pay period is?
