TRANSCEND BENEFITS - TIRED HANDS

Posted: Dec 13, 2010

I'm a newer employee of 4 months and STILL trying to meet my full time status by making $900 a pay period. I really don't want to work more than 40 hours a week to do this. I am on BeyondTxt and about 3/4 of my work is Voice editing everyday. Can anyone tell me their experience with meeting this $900 goal? I really need benefits and am starting to wonder if this is realistic. I think there might be a straight typing platform at Transcend, anyone know about that? Of course, the pay per line is better for straight typing and I think I am just as quick. The company has been decent to me and I have enough work now that I have a 2nd account -- but, is the $900 realistic goal with 40 hours per week?

This means you have to EDIT 225 lines an hour. If you're not doing that, then you might want to look around the net and find the tips and tricks to speeding up with VR. Have you checked the VR board here? There are some smart cookies there.

225 lines an hour really isn't that high, so I would think yes, $900 a PAY PERIOD is way doable.

They do not hire everyone in at the same rate...I was making 9.5 cpl when I left but that was straight typing. I did NOT like their BeyondTXT platform..it was too cumbersome and not very good ASR quality coming out..too much to fix. There are better companies out there..If you want information on where I am at, email me.

Could you let us know where you work?

just ask your recruiter or trainer - happy Transcender

if you don't feel comfortable asking your TL or ROM, if you want to switch to a mostly or all typing account. They have them.
FYI, you should be able to make $900 on VR, should be doing more than 225 lines/hour, which is more like typing speed should be rather than editing speed.

doubt it - ex-transcender

I worked there for a couple of months and I had to work 10-12 hours a day just to make $900 a pay period on BeyondTXT VR. Before I left I asked if they had a straight typing job and they told me they didn't have any available. I now work for a company doing straight typing again and I love it. I'm actually getting paid for the work I do. VR is NOT faster. It is actually more time consuming and more errors can be made. Plus, the BeyondTXT system took forever just to enter in your demographic data....lots of time wasted. I now work 8 hours a day and meet my line count. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

Takes time - latebloomer

There is a learning curve with editing if you've never done it before. It took me much longer than I expected when we switched over from straight typing to editing and I've been transcribing for over 10 years. Transcend has someone who can help and tutorials (Ask your TL). Maybe work on one aspect at a time. Its very possible to make $900 on BeyondTXT accounts.

Benefits For Transcend

I am aware that you must meet a $900 per pay period minimum to keep benefits with Transcend.  However, when does that go into effect?  The benefits start on the first of the  month after you have passed your probation period.  So do they start counting it during that first pay period at the first of the month that you are eligible?  In other words, if you are eligible for benefits starting October 1, do they start watching the pay periods from October 1 on to make sure y ...

Transcend Benefits For MDI Employees
Jan 04, 2010

Has anyone from MDI who has applied for benefits know when we will know if we were approved for our benefits, and when our coverage will begin and will get insurance cards? Has anyone at Transcend who has their benefits had the experience of being turned down and have to wait that 12-month waiting period? The documents we filled out for benefits were pretty simple.  They did not require a lot of personal information. Anyone's experience with the Transcent benefits would be appr ...

Transcend Benefits A Couple Of Quick Question/s
Nov 24, 2009

Could someone who has Transcend benefits tell me- are routine physicals covered yearly? mammograms and well care? what is the per office visit copay? What about RX coverage, what is copay for brand/generic? What is the yearly deductable--what do you have to pay out of pocket before your insurance covers most of it? I thought I had heard it was $3000 deductable.  If so, is the benefit actually worthwhile to you? Aside from catastrophic.  I remember having $500 deductables but ...

Okay.  Let's face it everybody, we don't qualify for the benefits because we are not being laid off.  We are not being laid off because MQ hasn't said anything about laying us off.  I have a call in the HR, and expect to get an answer today, but do you really think MQ is just going to start giving out letters saying we are in fact going to be laid off?  Don't think so.  Everybody, STOP.  Stop hoping for benefits that will retrain us.  I' ...

Loss Of Benefits
Jan 13, 2010

Okay, I may be dense, the rest of you may have figured this out long ago!  Many times I see comments here about people who cannot get enough work.  Well, at my company, if there is a low volume of work and you cannot meet your line count you are placed on part-time status and cannot regain full-time status until you have met your commitment for 90 days.  Yes, you lose your benefits....your health insurance, paid holidays, dental/vision, etc.  Well, heck, look at the money the ...

Health Benefits
Mar 02, 2012

As June is approaching us, I suggest that anyone who has health benefits appeal to upper management (I emailed Vern and got a decent reply) to please consider better benefits.  They way they are now, if you are a single parent with young children, this plan could be catostrophic in a way worse than if you had no benefits or job to speak of.  I am not single nor have young children but am currently in debt of over 2,000 to a health provider.  I will probably still be paying it off when we use ...

401K/benefits

It is nice, I suppose, for those able to participate in the 401K, and those who would gain from the benefits. There are paychecks where I have earned $8 and 9 an hour (I'm a tier 3) because of being jerked around on multiple unfamiliar accounts and crappy dictators.
