TransTech Benefits - Bug

Posted: Aug 16, 2010

Hello!  I'm hoping someone will be able to answer this for me.  Could someone tell me what the employee cost of family health insurance for TransTech is?  Thanks so much!

I hate to waste my time with applying and testing only to find out the insurance is too expensive!

Costs me about $400 a month for husband and I - Med, Dental & Vision Ins (NM)

It costs me about $216 per pay period but so far it's proven to be excellent insurance so I actually don't complain about the cost. It's only slightly more expensive than a much lesser plan we had through BC/BS last year, and I had about 200 providers in my area from which to choose.

No complaints here.

I have no complaints about the inurance either but I don't have dental - Newer TTer - 3 years

and my rate is higher. I'm not complaining, though. It is good insurance and I hope they don't switch again.

Thanks both of you! :-) That sounds pretty reasonable to me. It's about what we are paying for my husband's plan, but they are threatening to stop offering insurance.

Hopefully, it's not too much higher for a family plan.

Thanks again!!

Good insurance? Must have good accounts and cherry pick - AT

Most of the work is voice and 3 cents a line. Don't know how some are able to make these huge line counts to even pay for the insurance coverage for just one's self and come up with over 400 a month. Then when there is no work you then still have to come up with the 400. Can't be sick and can't go to the doctor because you have to type. Must have an account that is easy and plentiful. Don't know how you get that either.
You want free insurance? No such thing. - Newer TTer

Never said it was easy to pay. You just have to go with the flow.

Honestly, you need to seek professional help instead of spending 24/7 on here badgering other MTs and making false accusations.

BTW, I thought TT was "starving" you to death a couple of months ago. There's plenty of work on just about ALL of the accounts now. Perhaps instead of taking cheap shots at MTs on this board you should punch in and see if you have work. Just a suggestion.

I live in a small town.. - sm

and the insurance I have through TT has no in-network providers in my entire town. The one hospital we have here isn't in their network either. So my deductible is huge. Just any FYI if you live in a rural area.

TT insurance - Age difference?

[ In Reply To ..]
I pay about $500 a month for DH and myself with medical and dental. No vision.

My only caution about TT insurance is that they do switch a lot. sm - ndmt

On the last switch, I filled out paperwork that said BCBS, but we ended up getting a different insurance. Before we were informed of the change, we went to our regular doctors and had some extensive testing that was not covered in network by the new insurance. We ended up with a very substantial bill, and that has affected our ability to use the insurance. I am holding off on any more testing until I know if the insurance is going to change again, because I really don't want to change my primary care at all but especially if the insurance and the network is going to be different again in January.

TT insurance not only high, so is the line count - AT

You are only eligible if you are full time. You have to maintain every day for 5 days a 1400 line count with accounts and programs you never thought would be so horrible. Be prepared to work 12 hour days 7 days a week, and just for insurance that will cost you plenty. Then what happens when you can't achieve your linecount or there is NO work??

We were told it was BCBS but... - sm

it is not BCBS. They change insurance companies every year so I am waiting for the change again. I am still peeved we were told it was one thing but turned out to be something different.

Okay.  Let's face it everybody, we don't qualify for the benefits because we are not being laid off.  We are not being laid off because MQ hasn't said anything about laying us off.  I have a call in the HR, and expect to get an answer today, but do you really think MQ is just going to start giving out letters saying we are in fact going to be laid off?  Don't think so.  Everybody, STOP.  Stop hoping for benefits that will retrain us.  I' ...

Loss Of Benefits
Jan 13, 2010

Okay, I may be dense, the rest of you may have figured this out long ago!  Many times I see comments here about people who cannot get enough work.  Well, at my company, if there is a low volume of work and you cannot meet your line count you are placed on part-time status and cannot regain full-time status until you have met your commitment for 90 days.  Yes, you lose your benefits....your health insurance, paid holidays, dental/vision, etc.  Well, heck, look at the money the ...

Health Benefits
Mar 02, 2012

As June is approaching us, I suggest that anyone who has health benefits appeal to upper management (I emailed Vern and got a decent reply) to please consider better benefits.  They way they are now, if you are a single parent with young children, this plan could be catostrophic in a way worse than if you had no benefits or job to speak of.  I am not single nor have young children but am currently in debt of over 2,000 to a health provider.  I will probably still be paying it off when we use ...

It is nice, I suppose, for those able to participate in the 401K, and those who would gain from the benefits. Unemployment Benefits

So much fun filing for partial unemployment.  Have to send in weekly gross wages, which MMODAL say they can't let me know that until 3 days before payday, which does not work, as I have to report WEEKLY or I lose benefits for that one week.  Just have to guesstimate what I earned by line counts straight and VR, but can't figure shift differential or what they screw you out of if you send too many QAs.  I've reported this to ESD and let them handle it.
