Landmark Transcription no work ? - losing acct.

Anyone else get an e-mail this morning that as of April 1, they have lost a big acct. and we will have no work ? Was basically told we could be put on a waiting list for other upcoming accounts, other platform. Personally, I did not think this sounded very encouraging and with all the lack of work posts by others over the last few weeks, I guess I willl be looking at other options. Luckily, I have work with another company and will try to get some more from them. I really am tired of starting over again and know I will have to take a pay cut with anybody else. What does everyone else think this has happened to?

Not just that account. There was a major hem/onc account that was lost in March. Client just pulled the rug from beneath them and went with a completely different system that eliminates the MT/ME.

What does the acct start with? That just sucks. I work there on eScription. Not much work there, but at least it is something. I'll be looking once again, too. I should have been looking long before this, but this just gave me incentive to get something else, probably out of MT.

They have job ads right now that they are hiring, but would tell current employees that they will be put on a waiting list? This company is soooooo confusing! File for unemployment though, that may help.

I got the e-mail too and my heart just sunk, because just yesterday, I got bad news from the other job I work for. Hopefully K will get back to us in a timely manner whether we can be placed on another account, whatnot, so I can move forward looking for something else. I really liked working for Landmark. I hope this ends up working out.

Just my opinion here, but Landmark seems to be ran entirely by K. Not only does she handle all of the business operations, but she also does QA and basically anything that does not pertain to payroll. I don't know the credentials that K has, but I don't think she is a "business savvy" individual that should have that type of power. She is NICE, yes we all agree to that, but the company is losing more accounts daily and she is over-staffing and causing the company to get somewhat of a bad name. Even with QA, again, she is nice, of course, but maybe not the best QA person out there. I don't believe I have ever left a blank that she could fill in, so it goes to the client with a blank. I have worked for other companies that QA were so good that they figured out blanks that I thought were impossible to decipher.

I know A reads this board sometimes, because she has sent out emails in response to things said. She may need to have a good look at the company and either get a more qualified person to run it, since she plays the "silent" person these days or at least get someone to help out. I believe they used to be a good company, but have spiraled downhill fast.

I think K does a better job of running the company than the others.

As far as QA, there are many people who work on that account and one QA specifically who can't keep his/her fingers out of a report, correcting things to blatantly incorrect items that do not fit contextually and/or the wrong words, are wrong format wise, and are wrong as to style. There have also been times when a QA would highlight blocks of text, remove it from the report, and then paste it back in. No corrections.

I'd rather them leave a blank than to guess and/or put something that's incorrect. I don't think it is any great feat to fill reports with guess work.

I now try as much as possible to not send anything to QA.

I was speaking of how I have seen this company decline tremendously in the past 7 years and it was when K started having more and more responsibility. I am not blaming her, I am saying perhaps she doesn't have the time or business sense to run a company and I don't know why A just bailed out of it.

As far as QA, of course I am not saying a QA person should do guess work, but if K had more time to devote to QA then maybe she could find the answers to any blanks that are left. And yes, as far as the newer QA person, she is just a joke all together, makes no sense in her corrections. AGAIN, though, why would K have a person like THAT on board now?

What really irritates me are the dictators who deliberately slur through a review of systems or PE expecting us to know what they are saying when there is no way that's possible. Completing the report could only be done with guesswork and I will not do that with someone's medical records. That is just blatant disregard for the welfare of the patient.

The other pet peeve is dictators who slur through dictation that they are reading, as if we have it to refer to, i.e. path or rad reports. I hope QA doesn't just fill in the blanks with the standard phrases. You'd think if some of these dictators got the blanks back they would get a clue and start really dictating.

I was promised to be put on the waiting list and transferred over the eScription account. Was told I would get info regarding the new account so I could start on Monday, but that was days ago and I still haven't heard anything. I'm getting worried that I will just end up losing my position altogether.

It seems like their most important considerations are experience in specialty and platform. (sm) - Angie

A year ago I made the choice not to count on just one company, industry not dependable enough, so I split my time between 2 companies. I put my name on the waiting list for another Bayscribe acct. but not expecting much. In the meantime, I am hoping to pick up more work with my other job. Give yourself options - 2 part-times in my opinion are better than 1. Good luck.

Was hired by this company for a large hospital new account. Owner said she was excited about hiring 40 MTs. There has never been more than a few jobs per day. It is definitely overflor and there is not a lot of that. Not enough work for even part time. Very vague about any further work. Am very disappointed. Owner does not have a grip on reality. ...

I find it interesting that this posted at all, as when I was there starting part-time to consider full-time, supposedly my acct was "terminated" without notice. Now they suddenly have work? I don't know....kind of puts the gut on alert IMO. Just my 2 cents. ...

I think I may have made a HUGE error. After not reading and researching enough on site here I sent Landmark Transcription my resume. It wasn't until it was sent I discovered some of the messages from last year saying they are always out of work !! Just what I or any of us would need - sign on with a company who has no work. I left Soft Script because of that. Good grief, I wish I had seen all the feedback earlier. Live and learn I guess. ...

Landmark has been great for the most part until this recent notification of changes in our pay periods back to bimonthly. Is anyone else just a little upset that we only get one week's pay for the first check of Dec. instead of usual 2? We still only get the same check end of month for 1-15th. Some of us have bills & will only get half the check. I was told that no one else was too bothered by this. Guess I'm the only one who actually works for my payc ...

Hi, all- I am a transcriptionist (employee) at our local hospital and we were all recently told that Landmark was taking over our transcription department. We were given severance packages and were told that we would be offered positions with Landmark to continue doing the hospital transcription.
