Pay Period Changes Landmark Transcription - Disappointed

Landmark has been great for the most part until this recent notification of changes in our pay periods back to bimonthly. Is anyone else just a little upset that we only get one week's pay for the first check of Dec. instead of usual 2? We still only get the same check end of month for 1-15th. Some of us have bills & will only get half the check. I was told that no one else was too bothered by this. Guess I'm the only one who actually works for my paycheck?

We're getting the odd week of pay one week after the regular pay, and then two weeks or so after that we'll be receiving another check for a full 15 days - it all averages out - I'm not following your concern?

Yes & that check you get will be for one week so for the month of Dec. we only get paid for 3 weeks total instead of 4, that's my concern. It does not average out in the month of Dec., maybe you have another source of income but I certainly don't.

Seems to me LM was on bi-monthly previously and then I said hallelujah when they changed.... now changing again... or maybe that was several employers ago.

They were bimonthly which I actually prefer, checks have sometimes 2 days or more in the payperiods so better checks. I had the same pay dates for a few years & actually had based some bill due dates around those dates. The every other week pay dates has caused problems for me but my issue is with the fact in changing back to the bimonthly system, they are only paying us for 3 weeks total in December instead of 4 now. I know that it will even out after that but Dec. is the hardest for most people with taxes due, Christmas, etc. Not a good thing to do with 3 weeks' notice to figure out what the heck to do. :(

Yes, I too am disappointed in the bi-monthly pay. I don't like to have to change my budget AGAIN to fit my pays. Some people don't mind because their husband has a good income I think, but I don't have the luxury. I was very, very disappointed to hear we are going to be paid bi-monthly. Longer spans between pay makes it difficult. It does make a difference to me. The reason nobody else said anything is because we weren't asked. I'm sure if they took a poll, or if the people were asked, there are a lot of us that do mind. Does it do us any good though? It is what it is I guess, so we adjust.

This is a little unrelated but I work 32 hours (four 8 hour days) but only getting about 10 hours a week of actual work; how about the rest of you? So would I qualify for the insurance just working those few hours. Does anyone actually transcribe 9600 lines per pay period? I want that account. I used to do 1800 lines a day now I can't even make that in a week. So sad. So I have no husband either and these pay checks are smaller all the time.

Was hired by this company for a large hospital new account. Owner said she was excited about hiring 40 MTs. There has never been more than a few jobs per day. It is definitely overflor and there is not a lot of that. Not enough work for even part time. Very vague about any further work. Am very disappointed. Owner does not have a grip on reality. ...

I find it interesting that this posted at all, as when I was there starting part-time to consider full-time, supposedly my acct was "terminated" without notice. Now they suddenly have work? I don't know....kind of puts the gut on alert IMO. Just my 2 cents. ...

I think I may have made a HUGE error. After not reading and researching enough on site here I sent Landmark Transcription my resume. It wasn't until it was sent I discovered some of the messages from last year saying they are always out of work !! Just what I or any of us would need - sign on with a company who has no work. I left Soft Script because of that. Good grief, I wish I had seen all the feedback earlier. Live and learn I guess. ...

Anyone else get an e-mail this morning that as of April 1, they have lost a big acct. and we will have no work ? Hi, all- I am a transcriptionist (employee) at our local hospital and we were all recently told that Landmark was taking over our transcription department.
