shouldn't the word "hours" ALWAYS follow, i.e. 1345 hours?
military time - hours

I work on VA accounts, and we don't put hours after the time, just like you wouldn't put "o'clock" after 5:00.
military time - hours...oops!!!!

I had a total brain fart there. I only THOUGHT I didn't use the word hours, but went back to work after posting, and, what do you know? I do. I just do it so unconsciously that I didn't register I was doing it, and stopping to think about it made me think I didn't, that it would look right, and wouldn't make sense. Sorry! Definitely my bad.
military time
Identifies the day's 24 hours by numerals 0100 through 2400, rather than 1 a.m. through noon and 1 p.m. through midnight.
Hours 0100 through 1200 are consistent with a.m. hours 1 through noon, while hours 1300 through 2400 correlate with p.m. hours 1 through midnight, respectively.
This form always takes four numerals, so insert the preceding or following zeros as necessary.
Do not separate hours from minutes with a colon. Do not use a.m. or p.m.
1300 hours
0845 hours
If the word hours is not dictated it may be added for clarity, but this is not absolutely necessary.

that stated no colon, but also stated it was necessary to put hours afterward. I thought that the BOS said differently and before I responded, I wanted to be clear.
I lost my BOS to water damage after a fire and hadn't replaced it yet.
Thanks again!

There is always the lone client, or a bunch of them even, that want the colon inserted. Also, doesn't the ADT show a colon for Military hours? I don't know why they do that. Since the dawn of time, no colon for Military.
there are always exceptions to the rules. Is ADT - Active Duty Training?
I was recently told that time should be typed a military time. Just double checking as I am not used to doing this. Should 8:00 pm be typed as 2000 hours and 8:30 pm be typed as 2030 hours? Thanks! ...
Anyone know what this would be? I checked WASP, WAASP, WHASP, and WASPP without much luck. Says her significant other passed his s/l WASP testing and will be able to stay in the military. He is going full-time active duty. ...
On this day and everyday, I am and will forever be in your debt for the sacrifice your husbands, brothers, fathers, sisters, aunts, uncles, wives and that of your families as you support them in their duties as they serve and protect our great nation.
I know this is not enough to repay all that you do, but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

For any who have applied to PRN Military Transcription, please remember that if you work on any military/VA accounts, you must have employee status and be paid the wage determination rate for that work, which is an HOURLY rate. Â This company may have a mix of accounts, and you may be hired initially to work on non-government accounts at a line rate. Â However, any time you work on an account that has a federal government contract, you have to be considered an employee, not IC, and you have to b ...

When typing combination medications should you put the dosage abbreviation after each medicaotin..... Example: hydrocodone 5 mg/325 mg or hydrocodone 5/325 mg????
Also, what if it is a medication combination that uses both mg and mcg? Example: 75 mg/200 mcg. I received a correction back from my boss and she had it 75/200 mg and, considering that part of the medication is mcg, i think that her correction is actually incorrect. ...
A history and physical examination report. Doctor has already dictated information for EXTREMITIES subheading, but later dictates more info for same subheading. Should I combine second set of extremity info with first set of info? Thanks! ...
I am not sure how to format this medication and I think there might be a stumble also. Doctor says "... 2 tabs 125 mg 2 times p.o. t.i.d." Wonder whether I should edit out the either "2 tabs" or "2 times" as she does seem to correct herself. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated? Thanks ...
In a verbatim account:
"patient is into" (doc lists medications)... Patient is into?? Very clearly said.
"there are no labs available on the chart." (doc goes onto lists extensive lab results)
Says also very clearly "this consultation was not necessary", however I am not sure if he is speaking to someone else, or if it is part of the dictation! I hear it clear as a bell, it just seems a snippy ending comment.
I am going to type it out as I hear it, b ...

Okay........ now don't laugh at this question. I recently had to pull up another transcriptionist's report, and came across something I've never seen before. I couldn't find the formatting this MT used anywhere else, so I am wondering if any of you have. I always type "90th percentile", "56th percentile", etc. when peds are talking about growth charts. This MT typed "90%tile", "53%tile", etc. Is that actu ...

I know when there are more than 1 diagnoses, you list each one separately. How do you handle it when the dictator gives 4 separate diagnoses, then "etiology to be determined" at the end? List everything under 1 dx, or list "etiology to be determined" as a separate dx?
