military time? - LHMT

I was recently told that time should be typed a military time. Just double checking as I am not used to doing this. Should 8:00 pm be typed as 2000 hours and 8:30 pm be typed as 2030 hours? Thanks!

Actually, 8:30 p.m. would be 0850 hours.

I keep this chart by my desk for reference:

01:00 1300
02:00 1400
03:00 1500
04:00 1600
etc.

Sometimes I still get confused (I'm not a "numbers" person.

0100 hours is 1 a.m., 1300 hours is 1 p.m., 0200 is 2 a.m., 1400 hours is 2 p.m., 0300 is 3 a.m., 1500 hours is 3 p.m. Also, 2400 hours is midnight. I think there are military clocks on the Internet if you google "military time." Federal Government retiree so got used to military time & keep my watch set that way

Sorry about mistaken post. I'm truly not a "numbers person," as I said. Boy, is MY face red (look closely). Don't know what I was thinking about at this hour of the morning. Thankfully, my documents are automatically time stamped so I don't have to do the calculations myself. This is fortunate, as you may surmise.

Sheesh. Will be more careful in the future.

Yes 8:30 p.m. is 2030 hours. Only type military - Time

It has been inconvenient, and maybe a bit confusing at times, to check my time card hours for my shift as, because of my time zone, part of my hours show up on the next day because I work 2nd shift. I wonder if I will get overtime for yesterday, even though I did not work overtime. Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done.
