Got the report on mouse clicks. - sick and tired

Posted: Feb 15, 2011

I guess I am truly stupid.  The numbers mean nothing to me.  On my report they are gauged against nothing -- just with a goal to "improve."  My lines were 197 per hour (which is incorrect and too high) and I guess my "corrected" number if I was worth my salt and editing properly is 297.  Most confusing document they have sent me thus far.  I would be angrier probably IF I COULD UNDERSTAND IT.

its better than mine - dummy

Your lines are much better than mine and I have an extensive amount of mouse clicks...

mouse clicks - agree

[ In Reply To ..]
I totally agree - what do these numbers mean - are mine good or bad - how many mouse clicks should I have? My line counts are way above the required minimum so then why does it matter how many times I click my mouse? My report said 261 mouse clicks - how does that compare to you guys - have no idea if that is a lot or a little?

I only do 100 - still too much apparently

Same message every week, reduce your mouse clicks, blah, blah. I've been just ignoring these emails as they are pretty much a joke. I'm sure they put the same messages on there even if you have only 1 mouse click.

I did over 30,000 key presses and still not enough, and under 600 mouse clicks, but did I get a thank you for decreasing my mouse clicks by 200? NO!! I DID NOT!!

I have already notified my CCM that I will be deleting these reports and not reading them because these reports are pointless. All they do is make me angry. Who cares how many mouse clicks I had or how many minutes reports sat open without me working on them? Perhaps I was researching a word or looking up an old report or God forbid taking a bathroom break. As long as I hit my lines per hour who cares? We are paid on production! I can't get the docs to stop dictating on speakerphone or in the car and I can't get them to stop saying q.d. or actually help fix ASR to make me more productive so why the nitpicking over keystrokes? How about if I just send the reports through without editing? That would cut down on keystrokes.

You are totally correct, this will never mean a raise, only somehow to justify another pay cut. In my opinion these reports were created to give some has-been/washed up QKLs a job to do and the MQ suits love to see the MTs all riled up over these stupid reports. Sick mind games.
Maybe they are getting tired of paying the difference between amount earned and - minimum wage.
[ In Reply To ..]
And, of course they just plain want more output. There still is a big difference between amount earned according to cpl and minimum wage.

You would think they would get the idea. Maybe mouse clicks and - dnr

[ In Reply To ..]
cursor movement has something to do with them, not us. If we didn't have to correct the output, we would not be moving the mouse or cursor. Also, I wonder if they are counting the amount of retyping in the cursor stats as I doubt the program can tell the difference.

All I know is that my hands hurt more. - ASR hurts.

[ In Reply To ..]
Since the inception of 6.1 (when was that?), I'm getting cramping in my hands trying to play Twister all over the keyboard to correct the ASR. When I get a simple typed report, that cramping and burning calms down, but then with the ASR it acts up again. You'd think the extra keystrokes with typing would hurt more, but it's just the opposite.

Mine same way - sick and tired

[ In Reply To ..]
Been doing this since the Great War (seems like) and never had carpal tunnel. Now my right hand (mouse and arrow hand) hurts a lot. But I am sure they would rule it a "cummulative effect" from my years of transcribing. I just know it didn't hurt before and it does now and it is the "editing" hand.

Mouse clicks - sick and tired

That's part of what I don't understand. I am usually struggling to get the 150 lph/8 hours or 1200 lines in a shift. I don't get close to 1600 per day which is what they are alluding to (or is that my goal?) Also I am not a huge mouser; I use the arrow keys a lot since my ASR is so bad. I just follow along the line with the arrow key and fix every other word. Now I am trying to figure out how one could decrease the arrow usage without increasing the mouse clicks -- you gotta move around the stinkin' report somehow until they get the cursor to telepathically move where you are thinking. This was my first "mouse report." Just more stress and worthless.

S&T, what company are all you guys with? We're doing - much the same, but no one has mentioned

[ In Reply To ..]
mouse clicks or specific numbers to me. We just get a good/not there yet sort of rating.

Somebody Cares About My Mouse Clicks!
Feb 11, 2011

I just got my second DEP ASR Productivity Results.  If the person that has time to count mouse clicks, time spent away from keyboard, etc is reading this, then answer this, why don't you take into account time spent reading multiple client profiles, time spent reading sample reports to get information, etc?  Do you not expect us to leave our chairs occasionally?  I personally am more suited to using my mouse.  A lot of the shortcuts just didn't work as well for me.& ...

Key Strokes Vs Mouse Clicks
Apr 12, 2011

I got an email giving all the figures of how many keystrokes I had during a certain period of time (can't remember when for sure) and inactive time in an ASR job, etc.  Do many of you only use the keyboard and not the mouse?  I've tried to learn all the keyboard functions and for me it's a lot easier to use the mouse and I don't think that has slowed me down any.  They're not telling me not to use the mouse but instead showing how many more keystrokes ...

Question About Mouse Clicks When Needing To

FOR THOSE WHO COUNT OUR MOUSE CLICKS, IDLE TIME, ETC
Apr 15, 2011

Due to the slowness from Kapersky, pausing to pray (some hospitals do this), physicians talking with others in the background, physicians asking me to wait a minute (like I have a choice) and many other interruptions my idle time may be increased.  All of these things have happened to me within the last week.  Please do something about Kapersky.  This should have no bearing on our ability to work--we can't be productive with this going on.  ...

Wireless Mouse
