FOR THOSE WHO COUNT OUR MOUSE CLICKS, IDLE TIME, ETC - frustratedMT

Posted: Apr 15, 2011

Due to the slowness from Kapersky, pausing to pray (some hospitals do this), physicians talking with others in the background, physicians asking me to wait a minute (like I have a choice) and many other interruptions my idle time may be increased.  All of these things have happened to me within the last week.  Please do something about Kapersky.  This should have no bearing on our ability to work--we can't be productive with this going on.

why not turn it off when working? - that is what I do now

I am sick of my production being affected by this stupid antivirus, so I shut it off first thing when I start working and then run a scan each day at the end of my shift.

Just right click on the icon at bottom of screen (red K) and then click exit.

I do the same thing - every day now

Every day Kaspersky basically freezes me up for a total of 10 minutes when it updates in the morning and afternoon. The thing is, the RAM they put on these computers is so so so deficient, that it can barely handle DQS and Kaspersky, let alone anything else, and that's why it slows us down so bad. I too, just turn it off now because I can't afford to lose 10 minutes a day.

Kapersky computer freezing - Working MT

Thanks for the information, but I am so computer illiterate that now that I have turned it off while working the little icon disappeared, so how do I get it to turn back on and scan after my shift? Thanks again, as twice a day my computer literally freezes me up at 9:30 am and 3:30 without fail and I literally have to sit there and wait at least 10 minutes every time (20 minutes total a day sometimes) that my computer is just jammed because of it.
Working MT Do you have an icon on your - desktop for it? SM

I am not very computer literate either, but I think you should have that as well as the one in the bottom at the "taskbar"? You could right click on the desktop icon, and turn it back on there (I think). Another thought is possibly it is just hidden in the lower taskbar. When I put my mouse there, hidden icons show up. Hopefully, someone who is more knowledgeable can help. :)

I bought an extra memory stick (out of my own pocket) - which

increased speed dramatically. I felt it was worth the price. I had to get a new computer recently and I took out the memory stick and used in the new computer. It is way fast. Just a thought. I know money is tight, but if it helps you produce more, might be worth it.

That is what I do, turn the thing off! - MQMT

I turn it off at beginning of shift and back on at the end of my shift and run a scan, never had a problem.

Thanks - FrustratedMT

Thanks for the suggestion to turn off Kapersky. Support told me I couldn't change it and I went along with it. Now I will turn it off. My computer gets so loud when it's running my family thinks it's going to blow up!

I removed my antivirus software 2 years ago and use a free service by Lavasoft - no problems at all.

Somebody Cares About My Mouse Clicks!
Feb 11, 2011

I just got my second DEP ASR Productivity Results.  If the person that has time to count mouse clicks, time spent away from keyboard, etc is reading this, then answer this, why don't you take into account time spent reading multiple client profiles, time spent reading sample reports to get information, etc?  Do you not expect us to leave our chairs occasionally?  I personally am more suited to using my mouse.  A lot of the shortcuts just didn't work as well for me.& ...

Got The Report On Mouse Clicks.
Feb 15, 2011

I guess I am truly stupid.  The numbers mean nothing to me.  On my report they are gauged against nothing -- just with a goal to "improve."  My lines were 197 per hour (which is incorrect and too high) and I guess my "corrected" number if I was worth my salt and editing properly is 297.  Most confusing document they have sent me thus far.  I would be angrier probably IF I COULD UNDERSTAND IT.  ...

Key Strokes Vs Mouse Clicks
Apr 12, 2011

I got an email giving all the figures of how many keystrokes I had during a certain period of time (can't remember when for sure) and inactive time in an ASR job, etc.  Do many of you only use the keyboard and not the mouse?  I've tried to learn all the keyboard functions and for me it's a lot easier to use the mouse and I don't think that has slowed me down any.  They're not telling me not to use the mouse but instead showing how many more keystrokes ...

Right when you think MM (Merciless Master) couldn't possibly come up with a new way to add stress to your job, they make you install a software that counts your mouse clicks! My friends who still work in hospitals wouldn't believe this! Okay, I've seen everything in this business now. ...

An Idle Mind
Jul 27, 2010

Okay, I just started my first job with an MTSO, and now I'm looking at an empty queue. This is the same running-out-of-work scenario that has been following me for the past 6 years, everywhere I go. Three on-site jobs have gone down the tubes because the clinics/hospitals were "streamlining" with VR, and making their remaining employees more "efficient." Every time this happens, I promise myself: Will retrain, will find a new line of work. This is a dying field. Every time, somethin ...

Line Count/time
Jul 06, 2011

Hi, just wanted to ask if anyone knows of a program that helps to keeps up with your line count, such as automatically computing it for you? My boss tells me that I don't need to keep up with it, since he/she does. I asked for the program he/she uses, but was told "no" due to not having a second liscence and that it costs money. I am attempting to make improvments on my time. Work is picking up for me which is great, but I have not been doing this long and really need to improve o ...

What Happens At Nuance If You Are Part-time And Cannot Always Make Line Count?
Apr 26, 2013

I can do it most of the time, but every now and then I miss it, sometimes by as much as 20 lines per hour. I have had 1 email asking that I use my time more productively and make the line count. I actually do use my time as productively as I can. I admit, although I have done this for years, I am not great with VR editing. Also, with the high standards and deductions in FIESA, I really listen and listen again to much of my transcription so I don't fall below wanted numbers there. I am doing ...

I Work Part-time, Trouble Meeting Line Count, Do I Need A Different Job?
Apr 05, 2013

I work for a national service who has a line count quota of about 185. I've only worked there about 4 months and cannot make that quota. Told several times I need to increase my line count, learn the shortcuts, etc. I still cannot increase my line count. Lately they haven't said anything. Maybe it's because I'm just parttime and I always work my shift. I worry each day that I'll get a phone call or email that I'm terminated because I can't get that dang line co ...

Wireless Mouse
