Softscript question: How many "clicks" does it actually take before you start typing? sm - wondering
Posted: Dec 16, 2011
The reason I ask is because I've heard toat Softscript's platform can be cumbersome and taking too much time before you actually get into the document.

I don't work there anymore so can't tell you exactly, but it is a LOT. Then if you are in the document and you need to see something from the demo screen, or look up acct specs, or look up a doctor's name, or anything else, there's more clicking. it is an awful platform. I worked there starting in early 2010 and was told when I was hired that they were "about to roll out an updated platform" that would be faster, that hasn't been done yet. the only thing slower than their platform is Meditech. run away!

Worse than the clicking is having to wait for your report to download now that they have programmed the system to download only 1 report in your Q at a time. Yes! It used to be that you were working on 1 report with 1 report waiting to go, but now you have to wait for the 2nd one to download. Woe to the MT who has a doc who forgot to shut off his dictation because you will be waiting several minutes for it to finish. Hard to believe my production has been affected by this, but it has.

when you are in your 1st job, you can go to the demographics screen and click the MT button just like you do when you first sign on and it will start loading your 2nd job so you don't have to wait. had to figure it out myself.

It doesn't take long at all, don't know what everyone is complaining about, it is literally seconds; however, that being said, the system does bog down especially on payroll days. Marybe 4-5 clicks, less than 10 seconds.
I am looking to start doing medical transcription at home. I have 8 years experience in a family physician's office. How do I get started? What is a fair wage? ...
I know many will think I'm insane, but I used to work for MQ and actually did really well there. When they switched over to the open pooling, well my line count went down the drain and I quit. I have since tried to be rehired, but I am on their do not touch list so I cannot even submit an application. Probably because my supervisor didn't turn in anything about my 2 week notice I left, as she was let go during my two weeks. Anyway (sorry to ramble), I just signe ...
Posted this yesterday, but wanted to see if anyone else might know...
HEART: Regular rhythm without murmurs or gallops. 2 clicks heard at the apex.
(or 2: Clicks heard at the apex?)
He says "2" like number 2, as if he dictated number 1- which he obviously didn't. Is there such a thing as 2 clicks heard at the apex??

I just got my second DEP ASR Productivity Results. If the person that has time to count mouse clicks, time spent away from keyboard, etc is reading this, then answer this, why don't you take into account time spent reading multiple client profiles, time spent reading sample reports to get information, etc? Do you not expect us to leave our chairs occasionally? I personally am more suited to using my mouse. A lot of the shortcuts just didn't work as well for me.& ...
I guess I am truly stupid. The numbers mean nothing to me. On my report they are gauged against nothing -- just with a goal to "improve." My lines were 197 per hour (which is incorrect and too high) and I guess my "corrected" number if I was worth my salt and editing properly is 297. Most confusing document they have sent me thus far. I would be angrier probably IF I COULD UNDERSTAND IT. ...
I got an email giving all the figures of how many keystrokes I had during a certain period of time (can't remember when for sure) and inactive time in an ASR job, etc. Do many of you only use the keyboard and not the mouse? I've tried to learn all the keyboard functions and for me it's a lot easier to use the mouse and I don't think that has slowed me down any. They're not telling me not to use the mouse but instead showing how many more keystrokes ...
I understand that mouse clicks are monitored because MQ encourages the use of hot keys, but what about needing to use the mouse to reference Google or MT bookmarked sites? Is that not allowed? Does a person need a second computer for that? ...
Due to the slowness from Kapersky, pausing to pray (some hospitals do this), physicians talking with others in the background, physicians asking me to wait a minute (like I have a choice) and many other interruptions my idle time may be increased. All of these things have happened to me within the last week. Please do something about Kapersky. This should have no bearing on our ability to work--we can't be productive with this going on. ...
Right when you think MM (Merciless Master) couldn't possibly come up with a new way to add stress to your job, they make you install a software that counts your mouse clicks! My friends who still work in hospitals wouldn't believe this! Okay, I've seen everything in this business now.

I was told when I was hired that PTO started acruing immediately. But my sup says no, but doesn't seem to want to tell me when it starts. I think it stinks I was told immediately and it evidently doesn't start immediately. ...
I would like to how you became coders? I saw someone went to Andrews, is that where most of you went? I was a coder at a local hospital about 12 years ago. I was taught on the job, no schooling at all. I know things are changing and have changed significantly since I coded, and the way it sounds ICD-9 is going to ICD-10. What suggestions would you give someone like me? I also did transcription and have been doing that for the last 25 or so years, but I do not like t ...
Hi All,
Some IC questions for all you ICers out there....
1) I know cpl is a 65-character line by most standards, but how do you calculate headers and patient info such as DOB, PatientID#'s etc.?
2) Also, how do you write a contract up for places who want to hire you as an IC?
3) What are some of the most important things to include in your IC contract in your opinion?
4) Software...do you need "platforms" such as everyone talks about on these forums that they use for th ...
So I get to stay tethered to my house while my hubs and son go to a state park for a party. I wish I could just leave but I'm not the kind of person to do that, I'd feel too bad. Oh well, time to play some games ...
This is specifically for ambulatory care MTs. The axe has fallen and it will probably get worse, if that is possible. I got out a month ago and am I ever happy that I did, after hearing what the new exciting changes are. But I started applying, testing and even trying out other places months ago, and it took a while to finally find a good small, keep-work-in-the-USA and care about our team company. Start looking now, because the resumes will be flooding any and all good-s ...
I was an MT for 14 years with multi-specialty experience. I have been out of the field for 10 years. I am interested in getting back to it. I have some questions:
-Should I work on Certification before finding a job? Should I get Registered before Certification?
-What equipment/software is generally being used this days for at-home/contractor?
-What is the average PPL?
-How does straight transcription compare to VR editor as far as pay?
-Right now I live ...
I've never been paid by the line. I have over 10 years radiology experience, and this company wants to hire me with radiology experience at .07 per line "to start".....is this decent pay? I'd have to type at least 1500 lines a day to make decent money. Is that a lot of lines to do in a day? Med Trans? Ever heard of it? ...
I am wanting to start coding in the next month. I have a question though. Does it make a difference if you have a certificate or associates in it? Is one better than the other? ...
I am really tired of working for other people and have them treat you like dirt all the while making millions of bucks off our hard work.
Has anyone looked into starting their own company? What resources are required and how does one go about licensing, getting clients, etc.?
Any information on this topic would be helpful. Please don't reply if you have anything negative to say. Just want some good clean advice :) ...
I am wondering if anyone who works there, either recent hire or long-term MTs, would care to share their experience as to how they are to work for, how QA is, how productive the platform is, etc. I would appreciate any feedback from recent experience. Thank you in advance. ...
