Working Xmas... How does pay work? - nn

Do you have to work 8 hours or X number of lines to qualify for holiday pay? How do they pay it out?
You get 25% extra pay. sm/ - nuancemt

So let's see.....that will be 1 more penny for VR, which is the majority of the work. Big whoop. That's it. There is no holiday pay. If you want to be off on a holiday, you use your own PTO time. Isn't that terrific? So love working here.....not.

I asked them about holidays and was told nope don't pay for holidays if you work them (so much for incentive) and you only get what 25% for working it. Am changing my mind about ever working a holiday for a transcription company again.
I got a measly $10 bucks extra for working Thanksgiving. - anon

Worked an 8 hour shift that day. So not worth it.
It's actually WORSE than 1 penny per line, it's - sm

It's not 1 penny more per line for VR. They calculate it as an hourly rate. If you do 10,000 lines in a pay and all the lines are VR at 4 cents a line, and you worked 80 hours you make $400.00. Take your 400 and divide by 80 hours and you made $5.00 an hour. Now, take that 5 (your average hourly rate) and multiply it by 0.25=1.25. 5 plus 1.25 equals 6.25. So, if you actually had work for 8 hours on a holiday you would make 10 dollars more per pay period. Sobering, isn't it?
This company just keeps hitting new lows. Big shots probably too busy sitting in their offices counting their bonuses. Shame on you Vern and the rest of your cronies. Merry Xmas to everyone else. ...
Personally not expecting anything, just curious if anyone else was lucky. Last year we got a cookbook compiled by various people in the company that we got to print off ourselves. Don't think they can top that. However, on the upside this company keeps me in work and pays well. I can't complain, or at least I shouldn't. Let's hear it from anyone who did get or will be getting a little momento in the spirit of gift giving. ...
Thank you IMEDX for not sending a physical Christmas card, and for not sending us a gift card loaded with either $25 or $50, I forget. TT was nice to do that.
AND, thank you IMEDX for me no longer doing "bonus" to save your huge account. I worked 4 years for TT and always pitched in, now it is time for an hourly job. I have the skills, I just needed to go to the last freeway exit sign to get off.
Absolutely criminal I think what is going on. Has anyone every thought of a Class Action suit rega ...
I would like to work "outside" of home but it is quite a struggle getting the okay from my husband. The transcription is pretty unbearable to me. Anyone else have that concern? ...
I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country? The MT would keep the US address, and bank account. All paychecks would continue to be direct deposited into current U.S. bank account. MT would continue to pay U.S. taxes on all monies earned.
Does anyone see anyt ...
I have a new pet - a dog - who wants to sit next to me while I work. Does anyone have any ideas how to "update" my chair so this is possible. She's not very big, only about 15-16 lbs but I have no idea how to adapt my chair to make this possible. TIA. ...
I went to their website for the current job posting but my security software kicked me out of their site.
Can anyone give me info on working there, good, bad, ugly???
Thanks in Advance! ...
I know I am not the only one working 2 jobs or more. Between them I am scheduled 68 hours per week. I have them spread out enough I have "long breaks" in between to fix supper, take a little me time out around the lunch hour and housework kind of gets slighted. Watching TV of a night with hubby sleeping in his recliner is the main thing I am "missing out on". I don't spend as much money because I simply don't have the time to go out shopping other th ...
And to think, I actually left medquist to work for DSG.
Now they're forcing me to work for medquist again, and trying to convince me it's going to be a good thing?
I love to know if any DSGers are actually happy about this...

Does anyone know of any companies that hire on a super PT or PRN basis? I am looking for some backup whenever my FT position gets slow. I comb the job postings here regularly and on another site, but really haven't come across anything as of late.
TIA. ...
how do you keep track of all the different account specs for each job? I was wondering because I am employed with one job but the different clinics I work for each have different specs. Thank you. ...
Than everyone else on here! I'm very happy here. I have no problem with meeting quotas, have no issues with PTO, like the matching (up to 4%) 401K, and for the past 3 weeks have had OT everyday & have worked around 55-60 hours every week with a corresponding very hefty paycheck. ...
I was informed that I have lost my job due to some VA contracts being lost. I was just wondering if anyone else was told the same thing. I enjoyed working for them even though it was VBC. The company that is taking the lost accounts over now I find out they are or were for sale. I have been on a Merry-Go-Round for 5 years since my hospital outsourced. Any info would help me in making a decision. ...
Could anyone currently working for TTS (or has in the last 1-2 years), that is willing to answer some questions for me, please RESPOND BY EMAIL to me if you would allow me to ask you some questions as I am considering job offer. It would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

I feel like I'm the only one working not just in my group now. My whole "POD" is overloaded with work. Where the h e l l is everybody???? There are innocent people depending on us regardless how we feel about our managers and company. Come on people! ...
