Working either way - dilema

I would like to work "outside" of home but it is quite a struggle getting the okay from my husband. The transcription is pretty unbearable to me. Anyone else have that concern?

is that you have to get the okay from your husband. Your husband should be grateful he has a wife who wants to work and contribute to the household income.

I have 4 of my kids raised, still a 13 year old at home. Being a transcriptionist is a very family-friendly career, but I keep remembering way back when I was happy in an office with coworkers and tasks that were very doable.

My mom started working outside of the home when my brother was a young teen about that age. We were raised in a good Christian home and knew right from wrong, but my with my parents both working my brother had a lot more latitude to do his own thing. Long story very, very short, he got in with the wrong crowd after school when my mom was working and got hooked on drugs. He's now serving his third time round in prison with his release date set in 2021. Mom never stops beating herself up about it.

Believe me, I know the feeling. I have 5 kids (ages 11 years to 7 months), and I fondly remember the days of working in an office with real people and normal tasks that seem like fun now. I feel so stuck at doing MT work for what seems like forever. At the same time, I don't want any of my kids to ever turn out like my brother, so I've resined myself to sit my tush right here at home typing and being a watchdog so I know where my kids are and who they are with so they don't end up in the same kind of situation my bro did.

Besides, think of how much money you're saving on gas =)

consider myself saving gas money anymore. They already took that, along with my grocery money, bill paying money, etc.

add a little levity, which is kind of hard to find these days. =) Our checks do seem to get smaller. I know when my primary left MQ a few months ago, my paycheck went down about $200 per pay period. There are some times when I don't know how things are going to get paid. It seems like God always manages to work things out and stretches things just enough to cover the bills. I really cannot figure out how He does it, because it sure doesn't work out well on paper, but when the time comes to actually pay the bills, there's always something that has come up to actually have the money there. I'm glad I don't have to depend on the Q to be my end all and be all!!

I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country? The MT would keep the US address, and bank account. All paychecks would continue to be direct deposited into current U.S. bank account. MT would continue to pay U.S. taxes on all monies earned. I know I am not the only one working 2 jobs or more. Between them I am scheduled 68 hours per week. I have them spread out enough I have "long breaks" in between to fix supper, take a little me time out around the lunch hour and housework kind of gets slighted.
