Well I used to like working for DSG... - this sucks

And to think, I actually left medquist to work for DSG.

Now they're forcing me to work for medquist again, and trying to convince me it's going to be a good thing?

I love to know if any DSGers are actually happy about this...

Well, I have no prior experience with Medquist except what I've read on this board, so maybe I'm crazy, but I'm kind of excited about it because frankly, I've been worried about DSG for awhile now, ever since we lost several accounts. I already do way more ASR than I would like and work hours I'm not crazy about, so what the heck do I care who signs my paycheck, as long as I get one!

you will get 10 cpl for straight typing but you will get 95% ASR. That's 4 cpl. Everybody sees and accepts things differently but MQ is not the place to work in my opinion!

your line rate is cut

QA is horrible and inconsistent

you will have to use an electronic time clock and account for every single minute

they will tell you how much time your hands are off the keyboard

unless you are lucky, account managers can be very difficult to ommunicate with

your good work will go away for the most part .. overseas ...

I left before coming to DSG because all I had left was dictators I could barely make minimum wage on, and I am a fast MT.

So .. after the shock I will hope for the best .. but rest assurd, the Help Wwanted ads will be getting visited frequently.

Go read the MQ boards. They have been gloom and doom for several years now. Many of us used to work for MQ so we know first hand how bad it is. Things will not be looking rosy to you for long, trust me.

the slow down of work after lost accounts but stayed because they pay better than most MTSOs. I need to find a new job but where? We won't get to keep our same accounts and who knows what the pay will be, probably 8 and 4 and I can't work for those wages.

This is really horrible. MQ is going to own every company out there. I need to get out of this business someway!

Left MQ years ago,worst company ever to work for in my 40+ years of transcription. Loved DSG right up to this afternoon. First retching for hours, now can't do anything but cry. The lowly MT is always screwed over. you give the loyalty, long hours, this is what you get.

Yeah - it's a great oppportunity for him to unload the company and put a few more million in the bank, while we watch our salaries go down, our work go to India, etc, etc.

Makes you wonder if he really does think we are that stupid?

And of course Medquist, who gets their accounts. Which is of course what they were buying. It wasn't the software, and most CERTAINLY not the MTs.

I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country? The MT would keep the US address, and bank account. All paychecks would continue to be direct deposited into current U.S. bank account. MT would continue to pay U.S. taxes on all monies earned. I know I am not the only one working 2 jobs or more. Between them I am scheduled 68 hours per week. I have them spread out enough I have "long breaks" in between to fix supper, take a little me time out around the lunch hour and housework kind of gets slighted.
