currently.  I have worked at Transcend for 8 years and I don't think I've ever been audited.  Is this to change and will we soon be at the mercy of Nuance QC?  I sure hope not by the description of the QC complaints here.

It's the main reason why most people do not stay with Nuance, but even though they (management) are told over and over that the QA is too, too brutal, they give excuses about why. They will never learn how to keep employees. Guess they don't give 2 sh***.

Transcender here as well, but aren't these - QA/QC issues tied in SM

I don't understand this company. Is it Transcend, Nuance or Transcend/Nuance or Nuance? I don't get it. It seems to be 2 separate entities, QA-wise, everything-wise. You probably have company-provided PCs, maybe not, I don't know. I know we Nuancers don't. Anyway, the QA is tied to the incentive and also tied to our job security and our sanity. It is also very unfair to the point that seasoned MTs are being cut down to feel as though they are dirt under the shoes of the company. More often than not, it is mistakes they incur based on the "account specifics," i.e. You type: Infectious Disease evaluated the patient. Account specifics say it should be "Infectious disease evaluated the patient." Boom! There are points off. Really? The integrity of the report does not suffer. You did not give an incorrect med, lab value, something that would adversely affect the patient's treatment. Guess what? You made an error in punctuation. The information seemed to point toward renal failure; however, the patient did not consent to hemodialysis. Oh, no, that needed to be a period, not a semi-colon. Boom! points off! Patient care unaffected, but who cares? We didn't like how you punctuated that and we are going to score you at a 70% for that report (since it was only 10 lines and because we can!) Need I say more? This is why people leave the company. I'm not sure what else to say. It's beyond ridiculous.

By the way, YOU would be correct in the example above. A non-person referred to as a person should be capitalized. So not only is your QA being ridiculous, they are also wrong. In any event, as you point out, something like this should not be counted against you. I'm angry on your behalf. I sure hope this kind of nonsense does not creep over to the Transcend side.

Webmedx was bought by Nuance in 2011. In November or December we were informed our production bonus with Nuance was also tied to a 99% QA score. Then we had a QA audit in December that determined if we were performing 99% or above. First quarter of 2012, I fell to 98.7% and no "production bonus," the first time as far back as I can remember. At Webmedx, producton bonus was that, a production bonus. At Nuance, our production bonus levels have increased in 2000 line increments (at Webmedx 11,000-12,000, now with Nuance 11,000-13,000 for next level, not 1000 line increments. At Nuance, we must also maintain 99% for a quarter or lose the "bonus" for the following quarter. A quarter of this "production bonus" represents to some a loss of approximately $3600/quarter which potentially could mean $14,400 this year. Obviously, this is not a production bonus. My production will not change appreciably. I also believe that the QA parameters are quite different from any I have experienced with other companies and it is curious to me that for many past years I maintained 98 and 99% but upon Nuance acquisition of Webmedx, I must have lost considerable skill as it seems so difficult to attain 99% and keep it.

So, please take this into consideration. Because these circumstances are different for you now, they were different for us too.

Transcend will eventually be on FIESA, Nuance's payroll,and everything else. It's coming and the mad exodus will begin. On Transcend account where they took away the red box (see posting down further) everyone had mandatory phone call and Nuance exec on call to talk about suggestions on fixing account. She did all the talking. Transcend side was pretty quiet. The silence from transcend RM spoke volumes. Nuance exec said things will be better once we're on FIESA right after she said not using redbox because it's causing problems. I'm just trying to hold out through end of year then buh bye.

falling on deaf ears.  Constant account jumping, humanly impossible accuracy score and line count, extremely poor dictators, horribly picky clients who want this and that but not this and that, management that will not communicate.  If this is progression of technology and corporate greed, I'll go back to the good ole days when the primary concern for doctors, hospitals, clinics, transcriptionists, etc. was for the patient and the patient alone! ...

None of my work for the past three days have gone through because I've been put on full QA.  Not one complaint.  They've hired a lot of new MT's so I'm wondering if they're looking to get rid of us older ones so they can pay less. Ever had this happen? ...

So, due to decreased pay constantly going down the spiral staircase, I could not pay my Charter internet DSL any longer.  I had to go to dial up because AT&T does not have DSL in my little spit of property.  IT IS A NIGHTMARE!!   I changed my schedule to graveyard so I would not be disconnected everytime someone calls me.  I don't have the money to pay for an extra line.  Charter wanted $89 a month for DSL only.   Of course, they wanted me to bund ...

I am curious as to if the TLs are meeting their requirements.  They are expected to type 75-80% of their time and get paid by the line as well .  I am very suspicious that they are not typing VR all day, having their work sent to India, etc, and are getting the straight typing.  They get paid a flat fee per month for their administrative duties on top of that.  I wonder if they are experiencing no work and looking at a blank screen most of their time& ...

I have read dozens of posts on the board about Transcend, some good and a lot not so good.  However, I think there is an explanation for some MTs loving it there and others hating it so much. Transcend is a company made up of many other companies through mergers. The original Transcend who existed first, before acquiring other companies seems to be the problem.  On the other hand, for example MDI/Transcend, for the most part does not seem to fit that description. I was with the company for over five years, not once failing to meet the requirements of me yet I was told my position would have to change to 2nd or 3rd shift if I wanted to keep my job as there were no positions available for 1st shift.  Two days after resigning I see they are hiring for 1st shift positions on a typing only platform which is what I wanted. Did anyone else get the memo from Transcend (soon to take over from DTS) about the line rate change for the transitioning employees from DTS?  It was elegantly written, but basically it said that when the accounts are switched over the VR that the line rates will decrease but productivity will increase and no cut in pay is expected.  It is happening exactly how the posters on this board that have been through takeovers by Transcend said - decreased pay.
