Punished for blanks because of poor dictators - MT

Vent time.....just my 2 cents. It really irritates me that MTs pay has come down to this, based on the type of system that this employer has put into place, which reduces our pay even more because of poor quality doctors that the hospitals employ. One fine example, an MT only allowed to leave 1 blank before sending to QA, but QA is allowed to leave 4 before sending on...SO, 2 or more people have now listened to this report and STILL have to leave blanks, and for YEARS this company has done nothing but add more punishment and hoops to jump over to make even fewer pennies for the MT and then call it exceptional patient care? Boy, that is a whopper. And why is QA allowed to leave 4 and not have their pay challenged? Yeah, when it comes time for judgment, I hope to be one at their table, to hear their lies of why. What one allows will continue. Forgiveness... This defies the Golden Rule, and they continue to do so. No way do I believe that the people in this company that allows and encourages this behavior wants this to be done to them.

If you want a Christian company that follows your biblical rules, find one---but let me caution you I can recall a number of Christian transcription companies that either folded up overnight and left their employees high and dry OR worked people for weeks and never paid them.

To the OP, I feel you pain. Its not just your company, Mmodal is the same thing. 12,000 dollar paycut over the years, I just am not in the place to where I can find a job out of the house, so, I sit here, bite my tongue and take it.

and to the second poster, it has got nothing to do with biblical Christian anything...It has to do with treating people the right way and these big companies don't bottom line....

That should not be brought into the workplace at all, I would not work for a company that extolled "Christian values," Hobby Lobby comes to mind. I believe in the separation of church and state. When people tell me that they are sitting in judgment of me, just remember that others will be sitting in judgment of you too.

Third, not be brought into the work place at all..." IMO, there's part of the problem! Not work for a company that "extolled" "Christian values..." that's your choice, don't try to take mine away!

It can be shocking to see what your actual typing speed averages with poor dictators, pauses in dictation, having to research, etc. Take your total lines per shift. Divide by number of hours you work. Times 11 (I believe average words per line) Divided by 60 (minutes) Equals your words per minute. Is it me or is it that the sound quality is getting worse and worse on these accounts. Ever since last year when they had the town hall meeting saying they were making improvements (e mails, etc.) and then they got bought, seems all that improving stopped. I know my hearing has not changed but it seems that the sound quality of the dictation lately has changed. It doesn't matter whether I'm using a cphone or downloaded voice files. On A LOT of the dictations there seems to be a whooshing sound (for lack of a better description) in the background. Please HELP!!! What is the policy when you have a 22 minute dictation and the sound quality is so poor you can only understand may be every 4th or 5th word/phrase. A new ESL dictating a DS. Can't speed him up because he's too "new" (to this country?). He is spelling every other word!!!!!!
