I know a lot of us wonder what the reason is for PT status MTs to lose 1/2 cpl. We have been told that it is because at some point we could possibly switch to FT. If our bank, where we have our checking and savings accounts would send us a letter telling us that starting next month we would have to start paying $200 per month for our house payment, even though we do not own a house, but this was just in case some day we might, I think we would all tell that bank they were nuts and move our accounts to another one.
This may sound like a ridiculous example, but how much sense does it make for us to pay now for something we may never want and furthermore, are not receiving at this time.
I think I have figured it out. From Transcend's point of view here is what they are thinking: Where else are we going to go and get 9 cpl to start. They are correct because I do not see many MTSOs offering more than 8 cpl or less. In addition, we have to apply, test, wait, and more often than not, hear nothing at all. If we do get hired somewhere else, we have to learn new accounts, learn a new platform, get accustomed all over again to QA people, managers, HR, company rules, and on and on it goes.
They have us just where they want us and for me, I hate to admit it but I am stuck, because I get exhausted just thinking about all I would have to go through to "start all over again." So, we swallow the rate cut, endure the frustration and get to hopefully keep our accounts, our flexible schedule, 9 cpl, our managers, a familiar platform, and keep our mouths shut.
The only thing that concerns me is if Transcend's way of thinking truly seems to them to be fair in this situation, heaven help us all with any future decisions they may come up with.
