Nuance insurance question - nn

Are medications and doctor visits covered or are they part of what you have to pay until you hit deductible?

You had the choice of 2 different kinds of insurance, one that had immediate drug coverage without first having to hit a deductible or one that did require fulfilling a deductible before Rx's were covered. In any event, all dr visits, lab tests, procedures are paid for out of pocket until you hit your deductible.

I agree with the previous poster about the doctor visits. But regarding the pharmacy, we have had the plan (beginning 01/2013) where supposedly the pharmacy discount doesn't kick in until your deductible is met. However, right at the outset we were VERY happy to discover our pharmacy charging us the same low prices we used to pay when our meds were covered under insurance! So that tells me that somehow either the plan was presented to us incorrectly by HR, or else there's somehow been a mistake (and there's no way I'm going to pursue that, LOL). We use lots of meds but get them from Walmart, but still, that shouldn't be the reason they are low priced (except obviously the generics on Walmart's $4 meds list). Besides the above, the insurance does pay 100% for certain things like a screening colonoscopy -- which I just had, and yep, they did pay for it 100%! They are also supposed to pay for a yearly annual exam by your PCP, along with standard annual exam labs, but unfortunately when my husband went to see his PCP for that, something got messed up with the coding at our clinic, so Blue Cross didn't pay for that. We should have fought to get the clinic to re-code it, but honestly just didn't have the energy.
On our new insurance plan for employee only, I am getting major medical, dental, cancer, critical illness, accidental for about the same I was paying or a little less than before for major medical, dental and vision. However the rate for adding spouse or family or child went up. So my son is going to get his own plan which is cheaper than adding him to mine. Also disability insurance is paid by the company on this plan. Deductibles went up, mine is 2500, but that is going on througho ...
Okay we HAD to change our insurance when Nuance bought us out...and it was horribly expensive with a $2500 deductible. They changed us in January, and I have just met that deductible. Well, guess what? They "think" they informed us that the anniversary date would be in August, and then the deductible starts OVER, and they are oh so sorry for this, but that is the way it is!!! and "oh, we are all so sorry."
Well, I can't afford my medicine and can't afford ...
Does anyone else get insurance through Nuance? I had downloaded and kept my coverage information (what is covered, percentages, etc), but lost it. Can anyone help with this? ...
I recently submitted my resignation to WMX. Does anyone know how long the health insurance is in effect afterwards? In my case, my last day is Dec 19th. Is it only effective through then or longer due to biweekly deductions for it? Thanks ...
Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard this insurance plan (BC/BS?) does not cover primary care office visits until you reach a 2500 dollar deductible, no copay anymore, paying for the whole visit?? I thought all insurance companies had us pay a copay, not the whole cost of the office visit. What about prescriptions, do we pay the full price for them now too, or is it still about a 15 dollar copay? I am left wondering how they got this kind of insuranc ...
I'm wondering what the best option for insurance is with Nuance. It looks as though there is no co-pay for office visits, so I'm guessing I should do a HSA? I really like having an office visit co-pay :( ...
I'm currently working 24 hours a week @ MModal. My husband's medical insurance has become too expensive, so am thinking about going to Nuance for 30 hours a week for benefits. Could anyone tell me who the insurance carrier is and about what the deductible is? Also, is there out of net wot coverage? Thanks so much :) ...
They used to have decent and affordable medical insurance but I thought I heard in January the cost went up substantially. Is this true? and if so, does anyone know how much it is now for individual and family? ...
for an employee and spouse $767.00 a month, dental for an employee and spouse $63.00 a month. I am having to waive the dental, can't afford that. Might have to find a 2nd job as well. Stinks for sure. ...
I have been part time with Transcend for over 5 years now and no health benefits and now they are having open enrollment. I thought Nuance would take that over and give PT people health insurance. I guess that was being too hopeful, right?? ...
I've just signed on with Nuance and was wondering about the medical/dental insurance. Can anyone tell me the cost for employee and family? Would like to know about deductibles, etc. Please give your opinions on the insurance too please.
Also, was wondering if current employees find it easy/difficult to reach the required line counts at Nuance. Thanks! ...
OMGGGG!!! Already in shock at the high insurance rates, wondering how anyone could afford them with the high deductibles and co-pays, and got an e-mail that my zip code is out of their area and so my rates would be DOUBLE!!! For the same stinking high deductible and high co-pay plan??? My entire pay would not cover the insurance!! Anyone else get such an e-mail, and what the heck are you going to do?? I am not in a "rural" area and am within 30 minutes of major medical ce ...
What do other LMers think of what is happening with our insurance? I am the head of our household and am worried. What do we do when COBRA runs out? ...
According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive.
In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...
that fall during the shift. For example, if half of your hours fall in 3rd shift and half fall in 1st shift, do the 3rd shift hours pay more cpl? Or, do all hours have to fall within the shift to qualify?
Thanks,
Yet another sad Transcend employee... ...
Just curious if anyone currently working at TT has received their new insurance info in the mail? Yes, I've contacted HR but I never get a response.
Thx ...
I don't know if yall know this, but I found out during the process of appealing an insurance claim that MedQuist is self-insured. They set our rates and our benefits and pay all our claims, United Healthcare just administers the fund! Kind of explains why things got so sh***y so fast, it's because MedQuist is calling the shots ...
Just wondering, MQ says that there insurance is second to none. So, how good is their insurance and how expensive? TIA
Looking for love in all the wrong places, apparently. ...
