So glad I got out in October!! - anon

I hope the MTs left at Nuance are able to find decent work other than there. You deserve much better!! I found another MT position and am very happy. Anything is better than what has rolled out in the past months!!

Nuance news - Wondering

[ In Reply To ..]
I wonder how may MTs work for Nuance in the US. Maybe they are planning on eliminating the US MTs and sending it all to India. If they do our work now, where are they going to find enough new work for 3000 more people unless they get rid of a bunch of people from somewhere.

I am not speculating, this is the plan. Very small core contingent only to - remain here.

Previous posts and articles over the past 5 years on this board have really thoroughly explained all of this. Pick a date in time, plug into the search bar by using the search function, and just start there. Those of you remaining are the last miners in a vein of coal not big enough to fuel a campfire, metaphorically speaking.

That's a good way to paint - the true picture--nm

Good morning, In your browser type in india.com and you will get "The Economic Times", one of India's newspapers.  Interesting.  What is even more interesting is to put in CBay up in the search bar (top right side) and watch what comes up.  More information on CBay, but from India's newspaper perspective.  Interesting to say the least.  Always good to get an objective opinion!!  ...

Nuance What's The Good News?
Apr 12, 2013

I really appreciate all the replies, good and bad.  I guess the good new is we the displaced have time on our sides in that we have 58 days to make a decision about our future employment, I believe the union did get us that.  I'm definitely going to look at other companies, possibly independent contractor positions.  There are some leaving who have kids/families they are supporting, I am 59, only support myself so I have that at least.  Appreciate MTStars board. ...

Nuance - What's The Good News?
Apr 11, 2013

We got the news yesterday, offered jobs at Nuance doing our same doctors.  I understand we have to clock in, and will now have to pay for insurance, internet not reimbursed, less pay, very large company.  We work on Escription with small amount of straight typing. They say will transfer our seniority, etc.  I have read on this board in the past that thngs may start out well but don't neccesarrily stay that way, things go downhill.  I would love hear from someone who works there and like ...

Nuance Stock News...interesting
Apr 25, 2013

Interesting article from WSJ about possible news of Nuance selling off parts of its holdings: (it is all conjecture at this point, but interesting that Goldman is often called in to make major changes, and sometimes it involves sale of parts or all of the company)   Nuance Communications Inc. NUAN +4.13%, the speech-recognition software maker in which investor Carl Icahn recently took a stake, is seeking advice from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. GS  ...

Check Out This Link To Nuance India
Jul 11, 2012

Oh please look at this link for Nuance India: http://www.ntsindia.in/ and while you're in there, check out the tab at the top that says "MT Training" and while in that tab, look at the subheading concerning earning potential for Indian transcriptionists. The base salary as quoted from that information is 8000 rupees a moth, which equals 160 dollars in US funds.  This is why we have no work and can't make production because we cannot compete with a company that hires out of coun ...

Hawaii Trip For Nuance India
Nov 30, 2013

Just wanted to let everyone know that I heard from a friend who works for Nuance that Nuance sent their whole India division to Hawaii for Thanksgiving.  Isn't that nice, NOT!! The America contigent gets nothing, 0, zip, nada.  I also work for Nuance and am so saddened by this.  We also work very hard in America.  It is very frustrating to be so ignored and undervalued. ...

Want Work From Nuance With Bonuses? Move To India.
Nov 11, 2012

Check out the bonuses for employees in India. My thought is the big N is making a move to transport as many MT jobs to India as possible (low work volumes) and employees in US are getting what is left behind. Home-based employees in India send reports to QA or Editor. If it goes to Editor, Bingo, maybe that's your job, correcting what someone in a foreign market cannot possibly understand. Makes perfect sense for Nuance. Maybe Obama will stick it to them with taxes for exporting our jobs so ...

Got This From Nuance India Website. (not Trying To Beat A Dead Horse, Here)
Jul 19, 2012

I just thought this was kind of absurd... "The future of Medical Transcription, as of today, is in use of Speech Recognition Technology. With the advent of this technology, manual typing has been eliminated. The Recognition percentage in most of the leading speech recognition software products is around 80% to 85%."http://www.ntsindia.in/mttraining.asp ...

Big ASR News
Jan 27, 2010

I opened a ticket yesterday for ASR, asking them to have H and H expand out to hemoglobin and hematocrit for my account, and less than 24 hours I got a message saying it was done! Unbelievable.    Seems crazy we would all have to do this, but if we all do this, maybe some positive change could actually come.    I gave them the account, an internal job number, and my contact number and just stated what the problem was.  My understanding is this was corrected for this ...

WHEN Will We Get News About Changes At Webmedx?
Jul 05, 2011

This whole thing makes absolutely zero sense to me. Webmedx has 500+ employees, right? What management is going to make an announcement regarding a publicly traded company and then tell employees not to talk? I would think announcing changes like that would put them at risk of actually influencing the stock. And they have to know it's ridiculous to think that many people are going to keep the announcement confidential. To me, it seems extremely irresponsible of Webmedx any way I look at it ...
