MT week survey. - sm

Can you believe how many people say they are happy just where they are with transcription at Nuance Surprised.  Now I read through them all to see if they really posted all the answers as mine was very unusual and only one word what my dream job would be and it was there. I was just surprised to see how many MLSs were happy with their current position with transcrition at Nuance.  Is it just me?

WTF is wrong with people???? Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid.

saw the same thing - LMFAO - and...

What's even funnier is they included all the "snarky" remarks in their results...idiots.

Maybe they post fake "happy" posts in the hopes - there will be something in it for them...

like a gift card for $12 or their name in a hat for some bogus contest.

I was wondering the same thing. They must be talking about working from home and the flexibility.

very happy with my job - but...

I'm sure the happiest ones don't post here for fear of being accused of being management posting as an MLS. My pay has gone up considerably since the new plan, my TSM is great, I have plenty of work, I get to work at home, etc. I worked hard to get where I am, continue to work on improving, and will be an MLS as long as possible.

You are one of the lucky ones... - I felt the same way....

But in a matter of a couple of months, my accounts dried up and I was moved to a new TSM and new accounts - those accounts are now usually OOW, so I was learning 5 accounts at the same time - my lph was still good - I am not new to transcription, but I have been consistently at 7 cents a line because of outside facility doctor's names that I have to blank, outside facility names, ESL dictators - sometimes getting 5 or 6 reports in a row of someone who barely speaks English - it doesn't take long to go from consistently at 10 to 11 cents a line to 7 - and it's heartbreaking....the worst part is seeing them offer $2000 sign-on bonus - I'm making about $500.00 a month right now - I used to make $2500 a month.....hard pill to swallow...I'm back in school training for a new career right now.

I'm so sorry to hear that - OP

I know that can happen at the drop of a hat, and I used to fret and worry and wonder when it would happen to me. I let the worry eat me up, but I eventually had to let it go and just deal with the here and now. So, for right now, I am happy, and I know I am lucky. I guess I just wanted others to know that not every situation is the same, and we are not all miserable. That doesn't mean I don't feel for you all that had back luck come your way. I may be posting the same thing months from now, but I have to live in the present and feel fortunate for the way things are right now. Good luck to you. :-)

very happy with my job - MT

Very refreshing to hear this. I too am pretty pleased with my job for the most part. I have found that I am totally capable of meeting the QA/QC requirements and still get a good line count and make a good paycheck. I don't have to fight traffic, pay for gas, etc. I love my TSM. I have flexibility when I need it and I love my accounts! So there you go, you are not alone.

good to know! - OP

Nice to hear someone else who feels the same. I feel for the ones who have it bad, but I don't think it hurts to balance it out a bit and let people know it isn't ALL bad. I had to adjust my attitude as well, and that has helped.

to be fair - newtonuance

No one understands our jobs like our fellow MTs, and I would only wish happiness for my fellow MTs...good accounts, great TSM, able to make money.

That said, to be fair, one has to consider the costs of working at home. No traffic or gas. However, since my in-house job was done away with due to a Nuance buy out, I spend much more on utilities. I had internet anyway, but heating and electric and water usage are noticeably higher since I've been home. There are also times I sit here not getting paid when there's no work. When I was hourly, that never happened. Also, computer issues cause a loss of income. Computer crashes are devastating. In house, all that was handled and no money out of my pocket. At home, it leads to an awful lot of money out of my pocket. So if one is going to say I don't pay for a, b and c, one also has to say but I DO pay for x, y and z for an accurate picture. There's an expectation to do a lot of work without pay at Nuance I'm learning. An hourly employee is paid for ALL work.

I'm sure there are happy MTs. I could tolerate it much better if my pay didn't take such a nose dive. My TSM is pretty good all things considered. My accounts are decent (except for OOW). The pay is just so horrendous and I feel very mislead through the buy out process. I guess with the number of MTs there must be, there are bound to be some happy ones, particularly those who are not bread-winners of their households and newbies.

You are fortunate. - wtfe

I was happy enough with the new pay grid when they brought it out. Then they added the .88 factor and was not happy. Then they rolled that back and was happy again. Then they introduced the new pay grid and what amounts to a $200/week pay cut. No, not happy. Not for lack of trying for happiness though.

Overall, I'm happy with my job. Of course, there - wannie

are things I don't like. I don't like that my rate changes from week to week. All in all, I have made more with the new pay grid than I did before. Only a few times have I made less than I did before and have never fallen to less than 8 CPL. I have a fantastic TSM, I like my accounts (for the most part) and generally have enough work. I think most people who are happy with their jobs just don't post on here very much.

HAPPY MT WEEK - Have A Great Week
May 17, 2010

To all you wonderful MTs working and slaving your lives away, Happy MT Week.  I appreciate you.  I appreciate your kindness when I have a rant or a rave, when I'm at my wits end with the constant changing around of clients, client profiles and the never ending dings being thrown at me. I appreciate knowing that I am not alone in this struggle. Good grief. I did not change the way I edit. It so depends on how many commas they think you should have. Yes, I made an unusual (for me) mistake last week, but the rest of passing an audit is dumb luck of whether you get a realistic auditor or Ms English wannabe. Everybody must be under pressure because of the cesspool as I see a lot of mistakes when I look up past reports to help with these mush mouths and accents. Just read through the survey without answering the questions.  Waste of time!  No matter how many of us answer it and regardless of what we say, after it is all over they will tell us that MQ employees love the company.  This is just a way to try to placate us and make us think that our opinions count.  You can all take turns flogging me if I'm wrong. ...

My Take On The SURVEY.....
Dec 06, 2011

I am an MT who has been around for 14 years with this company and I have my gripes like all the rest of you.  I took the survey and stuck it to them when it mattered.  For example, when they ask if compensation encourages people to do their best, the obvious answer is "strongly disagree" right?  When they ask if compensation is clearly tied to performance....again "strongly disagree."  Whether our answers matter or not, it's our opportunity to vent our frustrations with ...

Survey Of New Pay
Feb 02, 2015

Before the new pay rule game, I made 7.5 cents (3.75 cents for editing). Then when this new pay game started, I made less at 7 cents. However, I find lately I've been actually making noticeably more money with this pay game. You just got to keep quality and pending to QC under control. In fact, I think I now make a few hundred dollars more per month, if I keep it up, keeping quality up and QC pending down. I know some of you were actually paid 8 cents (4 cents for editing), so there is ...
