Info on Softscript - nononuance

Is anyone current working at Softscript that can tell me if they are a good company to work for? I have had enough with Nuance. If most of you haven't figured it out yet, we US employees are only working for Nuance to do their cleanup. The reason work is so slow is because of Dragon and India's cherrypicking. I now have 5 accounts compared to 1 or 2 a year ago with slow work still.

I don't know if SS is any better. There have been a lot of posts about that company, so I would look those up. Again, most of these companies, i.e., M*Modal, Nuance, Keystrokes, Softscript, etc., and so many others all get a bad rap and rightfully so. IMO, I would look for something else outside of transcription. You could keep trying to find another MT job, but be careful. I know there have been some posts about better companies, so you might check that out as well. What is so sad, most of these larger companies are horrible and so many smaller ones are a scam. Work for two months and not get paid, how many times have you read that? Good luck.

First of all, they are not a small company and they absolutely DO NOT offshore. They also have no voice recognition so it's all straight typing. There are a few things you have to do before you can start typing and a few things to do after you finish a job, in order to get the demographics in the job and get the job released, but all of those take about 5 seconds tops.

I read on here somewhere they don't pay for spaces and that is NOT true. They do pay for spaces, but they do not pay for headers and footers.

The mix of ESL and nonESL is about average. The line rate is pretty good for straight typing.

I was a little hesitant about this company until your email. Monday I applied. Tuesday I tested, and today, I was scheduled for an interview. In their ad, they were advertising for first shift, but when I received her email, she said they were only hiring for second and third shift. I need first shift, so at this time, it would not work for me. If anyone else is interested, they are giving $600 and $1200 sign on bonuses for second and third shifts.

This seems pretty typical lately. I had 2 companies tell me - they had hours I was looking for, but..sm

after testing and making it to the interview stage was told they only had 2nd or 3rd. I finally got in with a company that has the hours I was looking for.

Just recently offered a position at SS. I was just going through the archives to see if there was any info on this company, but everything seems pretty old on here. Anyone working for them now that could give some advice? Good company/bad company? I read where communication is non-existant, but if that is the worst of it.. I can handle that.
