I made a mistake on this board I need to correct - sm

I said Nuance pays according to experience. Obviously, that was wrong. I lost track of the thread or else I would have said something earlier. Apologies!
They do have a pay scale, at least "my Nuance" does - sm

Sometimes, reading these boards, I think we all work for a different Nuance. They are so inconsistent. "My Nuance" pays starting at 7 and 3 and goes up to 8.5 and 4.014444 (or whatever). Not much, but it is a difference. Newbies supposedly start out at the 7/3 range and "experienced" get a whopping 8.5/4 range. Like I said, that's "My Nuance" But my Nuance does not pay for my computer, and there are a lot of other differences.

After I began working there 2 years ago, they came out with different tiers of MTs, like new, experienced. I mistakenly thought along with that were different tiers of pay. This seems to be the only industry I can think of where you have to have experience to get a job, but you are not paid based on your level of experience. They expect expertise and quality but are unwilling to award you for it (esp. with the VR, where it is half pay per line because we don't have to type, when typing much more than less than what you have to do to be an MT). My 2 cents.
I just got called by "the boss" about a mistake I made yesterday. I feel horrible. I am glad they called. It was a good heads up for me. They down played it but still I am feeling upset. I know it will pass but it's made for a tough morning. Kinda shakes my confidence. Thanks for listening. ...
deciding to check FIESA this morning.... REALLY DUMB DECISION! I have just about given up doing correction reversals, especially since ALL of my post-audit QA is done offshore. And most definitely now because they must've just hired someone off the street over there to do my post audits. Seriously, there is 1 offshore QA person in particular who will consistently go through my reports and delete text that I have either transcribed or edited (correctly I might add) and put& ...
QA when they were checking your work, would you tell your trainer; i.e., something was "corrected" on one of the reports I did; after looking again at the client profile, the way I had done it was the customer's preferred way. TIA for opinions. ...
I admit I made a mistake. I forgot to add a cc. Never mind that all the other jobs that were audited were 100%. I am only human but Mmodal does not care. ...
I recently left a company after four years because the grass seemed greener elsewhere, has anyone ever done this and then realized right away it was a huge mistake? I feel guilty after the company has trained me and worked with me for almost two weeks but I am so miserable, any suggestions or advice of what to do? ...
...not state specific, I can find that. I mean, how does one manage when say for example the pay is the 10th and 25th of the month, with no money coming in, especially for the first month you work? would this not be a good idea for someone who really needs money desperately? do MTs make enough to supplement all that time in between?
for anyone working for 2 different companies IC, do you like it - do you make more money that way - is it worth all the different things yo ...
It continues to amaze me some of the mistakes I come across. Fosamax is not prescribed for a 6-year-old child with kidney disease/kidney transplant, Phos-Nak is. ...
I am a former Spheris MT, now begrudgingly a MQ MT (not that Spheris was all that great either). As was pointed out below, we are still on Spheris rules for the most part but I don't expect that to last forever. At Spheris, if we think a doctor has made a mistake, we are encouraged to flag it but that entails putting in a blank, just as if we didn't understand the dictator. If we have too many blanks in a given period, we lose our incentive pay. They do not diff ...
Today the payroll dept made a mistake and everyone who was working got clocked off in error. Now CCM wants us to go in and fix it ourselves. Next thing you know they will be sending us a tutorial on how to fix our own computers. I am so tired of all the things we have to do for no pay that I want to scream. It's bad enough that we are paid so little for doing what we were hired to do, we get nothing for all the things we have to do that were not in our job descriptio ...
I was looking over already transcribed reports by others to check on a medication and came across a mistake that really makes us look foolish and is something, IMHO, that any transcriptionist would know and this doctor speaks good English. Would you notify QA so they can correct the report or notify the hospital to correct the report? Thanks for your opinion. ...
This ASR mistake was so perfect that it is unbelievable. It's so unbelievable that I would never have put it on here unless it was for real.
Dictated: "M-H-C-L, all in caps"
ASR: MT agency hell hole ...
I am in my last semester of an HIT program at my local community college. This program is accredited through CAHIIM. I actually found this program on the AHIMA website as an approved AHIMA coding program and was so excited that it was in my hometown. Well, almost two years later and $4000 in student debt, I still have no idea how to code. Sure, I'm great at Math 101 and English 101 and my anatomy is amazing, but I have no idea how to code. One class that I have ...
Well, I don't know if the pool our area was sent because of NJA is affecting that regions MTs, but I for one want to say thank you God for sending me some absolutely marvelous, clear and concise easy dictation!!!! Yes Virginia, there is an Easter bunny... (oh, I believe that is Santa Claus). Now I can see why some MTs on here never complain. All MT work, no ASR so far. I am in heaven. Too bad it won't last long, even though my regular primary was not that bad, I just never re ...
comment about only unions being able to organize a strike. That just leaves everybody else powerless and without resource? No.
Leave, call in sick, take all day to do one report, send jobs through without editing, walk off, stop work. Plan ahead for you next job, and that's a smart thing to do, obviously. In the meantime, walk off anyways.

Talk about kismet. I just happened to pop in for a minute and saw your post. I copied it and emailed it to myself. I then took your advice and did a search in my city. I have about 8 great-sounding possibilities to explore this weekend. Thank you so much. ...
I just really want to encourage all of you to make note of things ASR is doing wrong and sending the info in either to support@ or to your CCM. I have been sending things in and actually getting some changes made here and there. If we all did it maybe we could help ourselves out at least a little bit.
I'm talking about things like you have been correcting text forever and ASR still is not getting it, like on docs who say the same exact same thing every time and it still comes o ...
Just thinking out load, so please bear with me. I took the summer off to evaluate how I feel about restarting back to work into the MT field. I have many bitter-sweet feelings.
Over 24 years ago I started in the MT industry and have done this working out of my home. I have raised my kids basically alone working a job that I absolutely thrived and loved doing. Now, it doesn't even pay us minimum wage for our Years of knowlege and skill sets we ha ...
I'm doing a hot nodes dissection, and the doc is using a word that sounds like MODERIFY. Here's the sentence:
Dr. Patterson performed specimen ____| QA MARKER: 358 |____ count, and this demonstrated the biopsy clip in the mass to be squarely centered within the biopsy specimen.
"The radiologist performed specimen _______ count, and this demonstrated the biopsy clip in the mass to be squarely centered within the biopsy specimen."
By the way, he has a delightful ...
$30 less today than when it has been mixed straight and ASR typing and it has been the longest day of my life. I have eaten more, got up more. I cannot sit still. If this is supposed to be "easier" on us than typing, they are full of hooey. ...
I've worked at a hospital doing transcription and getting an hourly wage, and I've also done transcription at home. At-home was not a good experience for me. I about went bankrupt, but the good thing is that I have more experience now. I'm trying to decide whether to go back to a hospital and get an hourly pay or work from home again... Thanks for any input! I appreciate it! ...
I cannot take much more. Those of you who don't have any compassion or feel the need to ever vent and just unload once in a while may stop reading now.
I'm not writing to be bashed, stomped on, mashed, or otherwise abused and used more than the Q already does. I catch this crap from them every day, I don't need to hear it from fellow MTs. We are all in this same rocking, sinking, Titanic together.
To make a very long story short here's the abbreviated vers ...
