Anyone else get driven nuts by dictators who STAT everything? There a group of about 3 doctors who work in the urgent care for the clinic I primarily type on and they STAT the great majority of their reports.
What's weird is that they don't make them all STAT, just the majority of them. At first I thought, "maybe they've just been trained wrong and were told that urgent notes need to be coded this way," or maybe when they call in to do their reports, the prompts they go through say something like, "for urgent reports, type 2," etc. And none of these reports have any reason to be STAT. I mean, really, does a 24 year old with a sinus infection need to have their report returned in 2 hours?
There's no logical reason for it to drive me as crazy as it does, other than it feeling like they are "cutting line."
Guess it's just one more quirk to add to this already idiot-filled profession (them, not us).
This is, of course, on top of some of them not remembering the work types that were created specifically for that specific doctor!
