If it's the one based in California, it's a very good company. I worked there 15 years. They pay well and pretty much leave you alone.

I worked for STAT and really loved doing work for them; however, I thought that they just let a whole bunch of people go. That is what I was told and this was just at the beginning of last month and was welcomed back if they had new work and I was available. I even asked for a work reference with no problem. I had already been working for them for a bit over a year, so I was not a new hire.

Confused is right. Recently let people go due - to low work. NM

It is really a shame. If things were still going strong, I would have no problems recommending any other MTs to work for STAT. They really treated me very well and I really miss doing work for them and I miss my physicians.

I sent my resume in and just heard back last week asking if I was still interested. She sent a brief little word document with some account specs, cpl and paydates--no contract, HIPAA agreement, etc. I did three voice files the first day. She sent back a copy of my transcription, supposedly with corrections, but there were no QA markings or corrections. I know this shouldn't bother me, but I have this doctor (and he has a PA-C under him that does it too) that STAT every file. He's an urgent care doc, so I get that he thinks because the place he works is called "Urgent Care" that everything he does must, therefore, be "urgent." But it's simply not true. When you talk to another person then you get the pay dates and the excuse is because the are a new recruiter...okay..They pay different than most places by paying you a flat fee per job and about 60% of the notes are templated out. 7 cents a line for independent contracting and for radiology? What is going on with this business? The hospitals at least treated us with hourly wages and health benefits. Now what gives? For years we fought in-house over knowing that you cannot treat radiology the same and line count it the same either, yet you work just as hard. Now, 7 cents without taking out taxes?
